I'm at a friends watching the NFC championship wearing PSU gear. His neighbor, a Pitt fan comes in and immediately starts trash talking. Of course I tell him that Pitt is irrelevant and have been for years. He tells me they would've been much better than PSU over the past 15-20 because they had more talent than us, if they had better coaching. Really, you have to be kidding me!
That's all Pitt fans have to offer, mindless chatter and what if's. Their team can't show up on the field and their fans can't show up in the stands. Pathetic.
All that talent he's talking about, is as real as lennay kekua. Maybe he's like manti and still believes its real, "it's an insight into his special mind".
Wow, you must have gotten to meet the infamous "dreambackfield" or an escaped mental patient...or both
It's interesting because realistically, a number of very good players came from Pitt - Larry Fitzgerald, Lesean McCoy, Darrelle Revis, etc. But the surrounding talent is that much of a dropoff that there's no way they had more talent than Penn State.
If that's what he's saying to you, you should say something about how Joe Pa must be a really great coach then. Because he took "less talented" teams and did a heck of a lot better than Pitt ever did.
LOL, would love to hear the response to that.
Luckily we will be playing each other again, the better team will be known.
Well, the guy said over the last 15-20 years, so apparently on field results don't matter. The nut probably thinks they had more talent than our 94 team on most of their squads.
When I brought up the 94 squad, he asked Brady who??? He said, " Tom Brady didn't play at Penn State." Idiot!!
Over the years Pitt has produced a good amount of NFL talent, especially at the skill positions. That said the supporting casts that these teams had assembled around these players were less than stellar. Team for team PSU has consistently had superior overall depth and coaching. Post sanctions that difference will become even more significant.
Exactly. as far as NFL star power, yes, Pitt has Fitz, McCoy and Revis to hang their hat on. Outside of a player or two every year, their roster is filled with slow un-athletic players from top to bottom. Coaching has nothing to do with Pitt failing on the filed year in and year out.

This is how it really happened......

Haha! That's great!
Wait, you met a Pitt fan? Holy crap, you just beat some serious odds. You should play the lottery.
I am from Western PA and during the MNC, lots of Pitt "fans" were trash talking PSU for some reason. One person, who always claimed to be a Pitt fan and one that I got in any Pitt/PSU arguments with before, posted something like "This game reminds me a lot of the Penn State vs. USC Rose Bowl from a few years ago." I responded by saying something like "This actually reminds me much more of another #1 team getting dominated." and linked to 48-14. He immediately took down my post off his wall and proceeded to send me a private message saying:
"No thank you. My status had nothing to do with Pitt so I removed your comment. I'm not even a Pitt fan."
: Reminds me of another #1 team getting stomped: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ulj5NSiaD8
"No, but your status was about Penn State (which has nothing to do with this game) and you were relating it to a team who is currently #1 in the country getting drubbed, so I posted another #1 beating that reminded me more of this game than USC PSU."
"You weren't even alive in 1981....Nor was I....It was a nice try."
"Yeah, I wasnt, still doesnt remind me of it as it is clearly easy to watch old games now. You were talking about history with USC-PSU, so I brought up some more history of PSU and my post was actually more relevant to tonight's game than yours."
"I really dont care to be honest with you"
Funny he is backtracking being a Pitter his whole life while we were growing up.

"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Another good thing this guy said was, "It sucks that I had to send my daughter to PSU because she couldn't get into Pitt. Their academic standards are higher than Penn State's".
Of course, I went online and pulled up two different sites that had top university rankings. Sure enough, PSU was ranked higher in both! He didn't have an answer to this!!
What he really meant to say was "it sucks that I pushed for my daughter to go to Pitt and she just laughed at me and went to PSU instead."
Pitt fans are just pissed because they are not even the best academic school on the block...Carnegie Mellon.
The sPitters are bitter because they are tired of being Jan Brady. They are just now beginning to realize that even when we get hit in the face with a football before prom, we will still find a date.
...I thought of this metaphor last night, and I feel it's pretty apt.
"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
I laughed... and it's true.
Ok you expect us to believe you found a Pitt fan. What else did you see big foot on the way home? the loch ness monster in your toilet?
Hahaha! That's one of the biggest downfalls of living in the Altoona area, you can actually find a few Pitt fans, among others like ND.
