Im going to be in Philly for the weekend. Any recomendations on good regional beers that I should try while im there?
I live in Pittsburgh, but Philly has a great beer website:
Should be some ideas on what some local bars will have on tap.
By the way, I think Yards is based in Philly. Maybe Victory too...But I am sure there are some Philly guys here who know better than me.
drken22 - have you ever tried anything from Draai Laag?
No, but I have heard good things about it.
I never knew that was the spelling...lol. I believe it is pronounced Dry Log? right?
i think I saw it at the Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh once or twice.

Correct - it's pronounced Dry Log. They have a tasting room on E. Ohio St which is opened from 5-10 on Thursdays and Fridays. Still trying to find a week to make it there.
I read "E. Ohio St." as Eviscerate Ohio State.
FrankyLs, go for Victory (Downingtown), Troegs (Hershey), Dogfish Head (Delaware), Yards (Philly), Nodding Head (Philly), Sly Fox (a few in the area), Dock Street (Philly)...there are so many. Dig into some homework to get beer focused and enjoy!

Best beer I've had recently was Wassail Winter Ale from Full Sail Brewing Co. in Portland, OR. I haven't seen any mention of Full Sail in this thread, but if you get a chance to try Wassail (it's a limited run seasonal), do it.
Yes, Yards is in Philly. Victory is Downingtown, which is right outside Philly. We also have Philadelphia Brewing Co., Stoudts (Lancaster County), Dock Street, Manayunk Brewing Co, Nodding Head. Lots of good stuff here.
For those that can get it, Troegs Nugget Nectar is in stock. It's one of the best beers I've ever had. Price is up near $50 a case, but worth it in my opinion.

Bell's Hopslam in MI stores now! Now officially my 2nd fav craft beer
bump....the last I looked at my watch it was Friday!!
Had it the other day for the first time. Hoppier than I expected, which is not my favorite taste.
Had Manayunk's Yunkers Nocturnum last weekend. That was very good.
Just picked up a growler of Columbus Brewing Company Bodhi. It is an imperial IPA and very good. Anyone in Ohia may want to try it on draft. 9.8% so it is strong.
Don't like Troeg's Nugget Nectar personally. It pales in comparison with their other beers.
I like Nugget Nectar but mostly agree with you. It doesn't live up to the hype it gets. Although I think that is the case with a lot of the one or limited seasonal beers. Two that I've had recently that I have really enjoyed are Stone's Enjoy by and Evolution Lot 6 DIPA.
New Belgium 1554
Blackstone Nut Brown
Odells 90 Shilling
Hopslam is just awesome. So is their Two Hearted Ale....
I'll be bottling a nut brown home brew this afternoon. Many home brewers on this site?
Anyone in the Allentown area know if anyone in the area sells Russian Rivers Pliny The Elder? Been wanting to try it for sometime now.
Philly occasionally has some but you're basically chasing a ghost. Even people in California can't find it consistently.
Yea I think I may have to call around come places in Philly.
I was out in San Fran last year and I didn't have any luck finding any.
Why bother with craft beer?
Yuengling lager...great anytime, anywhere
Don't get out much do you?
I was assuming he was associated with Yuengling in some way.
