I am drinking 21st Ammendment Hop Crisis right now as I am making chili and very impressed. I bought their Monk's Blood too and will hopefully be able to save for the weekend; don't know if the Hop Crisis will last tonight bc it is so tasty. It is 9.7%.
I have Zeus and Chinook hop vines growing if anyone near Columbus brews their own. I grow them to brew a sleep aid tea- part of the canibus family. Should have more than enough.

Yes its time to ressurect the thread!
Here is a list of brews I've tried recently thanks in pert to this and other threads.
I've rated them 1-10 scale.
DFH 120 IPA - 10
DFH 90 IPA - 8
Great Lakes, Lake Erie Monster IPA- 8
Schmoze, Hopknocker IPA - 7
Founders, Centenial IPA - 7
sierra nevada, hoptimum -7
Ranger IPA - 6
Bells, Two Hearted - 6
Dark Horse IPA - 7
Southern tier IPA -6
Great Lakes Edmund fitzgerald Porter - 6
Founders, Dirty Bastard red ale - 7
Southern Tier, Pumking - 7 (but kind of strange)
Any other suggestions on high ABV IPA's?
If you are anywhere near the Lehigh Valley..get yourself some Fegleys Hopsolutely. I prefer it as much or more than the DFH 120. Its similar in ABV
in Michigan.... Near the Saginaw Valley though it is more of a farm field area than a valley.
Fegleys is starting to distribute a wider region on the East Coast..I hope it makes it out your way. It's probably my favorite high ABV IPA.
Cigar City Brewing--Jai Alai IPA
starting to become a big fan of the Goose Island Green Line PA here in Chicago. I fear it will hinder my love for Canadian beers....
"Who's Dan Morgan?"
Founders Double Trouble is a favorite of mine and should be easy to find in Michigan. Southern Tier Gemini might be one that you will like. Also a few more of my favorites are Firestone Walker: Union Jack and Double Jack. Stone's IPA and Ruination are both great if you can find them fresh. Also Great divide Hercules is another high abv Dipa that I enjoy.
Just finished off a big bottle of Corsendonk Pater. Yum.
Just had a Racer 10 for the first time. Very good
He'Brew Messiah and a Westmalle Dubbel last night.
What's everyone drinking tonight? I'm going to be enjoying a Goose Island BCBS for the first time during the game.

Troegs Perpetual IPA, Bear Republic Racer 5
I have a bottle of Epic's big bad baptist and dogfish bitches brew... Can't wait!
Was in St Louis 2 weeks ago and had one of the best craft beers I've ever had, Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. DELICIOUS!
HAd the 2012 Sierra Nevada Hoptimum; Two Brothers Heavy Handed IPA; and the Brew Kettle's Old 21 Imperial IPA this weekend.
All were very good that tasted sweeter with our victory over Iowa.
If you are near Columbus the orderer at Whole Foods says they do get the Head Hunter IPA (his all-time favorite) but they only get two cases at a time and their staff buys it before it hits the shelf.
Trying Three Floyd's Broo Doo Harvest Ale right now. Comes in a 22 oz bottle. It is an American fresh hopped Ale.
Really pretty good. 9/10 on my scale.
I finally tried Head Hunter IPA last night. Very good and similar to White Rajah.
Just had Abbatia Octo, which is a new beer brewed in a collaboration between the Iron Abbey in Horsham, PA, and the Manayunk Brewey. A Belgian dubble brewed with cherries. Very good stuff.
Followed it up with a St. Bernardus ABT 12...just 'cause.
Thanks Doc. I will look for that one.
I am trying HoptologistD IPA from Knee Deep Brewing Co in Ca.
It is a double IPA. Beat Pliny the Elder in a recent IPA competition.
A lot of new micros out there now. Plenty of Belgiums and Trippels that I have not developed a taste for yet.
Do not post a lot but 267 posts to go to get my 409 badge and that is a lot of beer to try. I am the man for the job.
Just had Lemon Berry Shandy last night with dinner - not too shabby! Also recently had Kentucky Bourbon ale. Very tasty also.
Giving Goose Island a try. Picked up the Christmas Ale yesterday.
I got a little too festive with the Goose Island Christmas Ale back in '09. BW3s ended up in front of the tree in a very non good way. Had a Christmas Ale last night and realized I may need to give the other 5 away.
My wife bought me a beer-of-the-month for my birthday on Thursday. It is through an American craft brew site. I get a 12 pack of 4 different beers each month. 3 of each.
Enjoyed a big bottle of La Chouffe last night.
