Burns moves ahead of Hack as the #3 QB, which is weird considering now it's the only site where Burns is ahead of Hack. Breneman is #63 and Sickels comes in at #100. All three have fell since the last update which isn't shocking considering Farrell has some say.
Boyd at #60 and Robert Foster at #74.....apparently Bobby Engram is the main reason Foster will pick Pitt, and rumors that Pitt leads for Boyd as well. Cut me a freaking break - guess they want to stay close to home.
Yeah it's amazing that any high profile kid would want to play there but it's their choice.

Farrell has been taking alot of heat from Penn State fans about his 4 star comment. It's become very apparent that he had his feelings hurt and is not exactly objective when it comes to rating kids going to this school. This should provide the latest proof of that.
"A lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep"- Glenn Carson
How about making Hixon the OC/asst. HC and bringing in Bobby Engram as the WR coach?
Dominate The State
Adding a coach...which ones leaves, then?
Which coach are you letting go?
PITT is an odd place some in WPA see it on even ground with anyone in the nation..... They will have a very good class though
PENN STATE FOREVER
I mean lets be honest, no one would be talking about Pitt have a good class if the NCAA never decided to become ruler of the world. But that's a different story and it is what it is.
they will have a couple of high profile players , Dorian Johnson, Foster, Chapman is decent...but the majority of the reamining commits are 2 stars
Might be that way to the older fans, but they're a basketball school to my generation... and it's gonna take more than one good class to change that.

Bobby can't help that he's awesome. He IS a Penn Stater for crying out loud.
It makes me want to cry that Bobby is doing such a good job for Pitt. Will someone else please hire him away from them? How do we make this happen?
Oh, and Rivals has ALWAYS done the worst job ranking mid-atlantic recruits. Farrell is in charge of them and he is horrible. I've actually been quite impressed with 247 so far.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
It will be bittersweet when Hixon retires or makes a move on up to OC somewhere, and we take Engram from Pitt. Their best recruiter and coach.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
The only reason Foster picks Pitt would be his mom having a bigger say than his dad. The kid wants Bama, Dad wants Bama, mom wants Pitt. May not matter as he could very well not qualify.

Mike Farrell likes Burns more. Bill O'Brien likes Hack more...
It's pretty clear to me.
And yes, grabbing Bobby Engram is a definite must is when Hixon retires/leaves. Makes it even sweeter it hurts Pitt.
Farrell is an idiot. I'll certainly take BOB's opinion as well and after watching Hack's senior film, its a no brainer.
O'Brien did host and actively recruit Burns and Hack at the same time. Hack committed first, while Burns was still clearly interested, so we'll never know what would have happened had Burns committed first (assuming they would have accepted his commitment, which perhaps Sean can address).
I do know one thing that would have happened. Everyone would have been impressed with Burns a heck of a lot more, enjoyed his improved senior season, and people would be talking about how Hack throws too many picks.
Everyone knows I like Hack more, just pointing out the facts.
While that is true, it seemed to me a lot more PSU fans liked Hack more than Burns prior to either of them committing. Obviously happy with either, but Hack was the favorite.
Either way, I think both reap success at their schools. Stanford & David Shaw will certainly prepare Burns for the NFL.
Well, plenty of people liked Burns more at first (on all three sites). It was almost split 50/50 at the very beginning. A few of the more influential posters favored Hack and opinion started to shift in his direction some. And then Hack committed quite quickly and of course it was all over at that point. All Hack, no Burns. It was an interesting time. Buddy Brown was still at the top of a few LB wish lists.
Burns was also on the scene much earlier than Hack which I think led to an early Burns following. As someone who wasn't Team Hack or Team Burns, it seemed to me Hack was much more liked. Whether that was because "influential posters" or what, idk but down the stretch when it seemed like a race who would commit first...Hack was easily more liked.
As for Buddy Brown...he's been on the scene since the summer of 2011. He just never developed like many people (including college coaches if you remember his offer list) thought he would.
You could be right, by the time he committed opinion was definitely shifting in Hack's direction, for a variety of reasons. Of course there weren't nearly as many posters back then, so it didn't take much.
iirc Burns plays in a run first offense. He was more of a camp warrior than an actual producer. Once we got a look at Hack's film I think people were starting to shift focus to more to Hack. Not that it means everything, but I don't think Burns got the kind of attention Hack has gotten either. He didnt get the invite to elite 11 or the opening. I'm not sure if he is playing in any AA games. Hack has gotten plenty of accolades.
I love recruiting rankings but hack is a stud. I could care less if any qb jumps him at this point. I saw the film. He is good. He has a cannon.
Burns was invited to Elite 11 but had a scheduling conflict, IIRC.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Meh, I think people are looking to complain here. The Hack/Burns thing is questionable, but Burns is still a very good QB. Haven't seen his film recently, but I'm sure it's good. He's ranked as the 135th best player in the nation here.
Also, Sickels at #100 is still higher than 247 has him rated. Has Sickels' senior film come out yet? Sometimes guys will drop simply because other guys are moving up. If Sickels' senior film isn't out, there's nothing to help him move up and keep up with those guys.
Breneman is right around that ranking on 247 as well. I think Adam would have been a 5* if he could have played his senior year. As it is, kids are passing him in the rankings simply because they have more film to show how they've improved this year.
P.S. For those who like to wallow, looks like Dorian Johnson moved up to the #7 player in the nation on 247, with a rating of 100 (tied for highest rating in this class).
