As much as it was publicised and hyped yesterday, the Paterno report vanished just as quickly as it came. No mention on any of the major sports outlets, on thier websites. I had a bit higher hopes when I saw ESPN with a bottomline title yesterday....."Freeh Report Fallout." Hoping that the Paternos, players, alumni, ect put together a massive lawsuit against the NCAA, as speculated yesterday, to keep the pressure on.
Cowherd has been all over it and had Wetzel on to discuss it. Jay got to him yesterday and he stated he got up at 4am this morning to read the report. You also had a member of the BOT stating they need to review the Freeh report again. Those that this would change overnight are naive. This will be baby steps and the trials if they ever even occur will be another milestone to setting the records straight. For better or worse.
"One man didn't build this program and one man sure as hell cannot tear it down."
Uh, its running on the ESPN ticker all day, along with the reaction from Phil Knight. Not sure where you're going with this.
Because most of the country doesn't care and most of the media has made up its stance. Its what most people figured would happen.
Who got up to read it at 4AM - Cowherd or Wetzel?
Cowherd said he got up at 4:33am this morning and started to read the Paterno report. Wetzel said he's read it twice.
What's he had to say about it after reading it?? I refuse to listen to him.
I didn't catch all of it. But he stated that the report raised some interesting points. I just didn't hear what they were as I got out of the car. Cowherd was also blaming PSU fans for allowing Joe to coach that long. He basically sounded pretty stupid IMO. His opinion was basically like blaming all catholics for worshiping God. The simple fact Jay caught him off guard with some of the findings made him read the report. Jay really did do a bang up job for the PSU nation yesterday.
He always sounds pretty stupid to me, but that's another issue in itself. Jay did an amazing job and I'm sure Joe would've been very proud of his efforts. He didn't back down from any of the haters and took them all head on.
That was Act I of a multiple-act play. And remember the pivotal events in a five-act play are always in Act III.
(Clarification--the events involving the Paterno report and the family appearances all over the media were Act I)

Complete BS. I've read like 5 different articles on it today alone. Even the negative ones at least now admit the Freeh report is flawed. That's big IMHO.
1. Former U.S. Attorney Richard Thornburgh, commissioned by the family of late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, poked enough holes in the Freeh

LJL, what time was it? ESPN radio is on two hour tape delay in Tucson.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
was more speaking of thier website and the coverage there. Obviously, didnt expect things to change overnight.
It was around 10am CST.
From Ivan Maisel's blog...
In all honesty I think we are all programmed to remember how harsh and how 24-7 the bad press was when all of this went down. I too was dissapointed that I woke up this morning and there really weren't any more stories about it. A year and a half ago it was morning-noon-and night coverage of the collapse of the place we love. Now, for many of us, we saw this as a strike back to justice and to possibly right a wrong and get to the truth. I imagine many of us dissapointed that it only lasted a few hours.
Here is hoping the fight is not over and things continue to drop.
thanks.....would just hope that soemthing this big would be featured on the front page, but instead you find "Penn State mulling offers to the victims" instead. Like they are trying to combat this new story with more negative. Appreciate the "blog" but its buried and will be read by few, especially this time of year. Withn that said, and the medias history in this case, I should have known better
Shush. It's not a sprint but a marathon. Freeh had a huge lead. Guess who's footsteps he is hearing now?
I have to agree, he felt the pressure because he already went on the defensive and completely changed "his story" on the cooperation of Joe Paterno. Spanier and PS4RS reviews barely phased him, but this one raised his ire. Probably due to the publicity.
Didn't really know where to put this.
And I know a lot of us think he's wacky and that he isn't gonna be the one to make a difference by tracking down Emmert with Franco or anything. But John Ziegler was on KDKA radio earlier this morning to talk about the report and I think he was phenomenal.

If only the same could be said about your presence on this board...
F the NCAA
F the BOT
Just listened and I liked the conversation. I do wish Ziegler didn't allow his voice to sound so nutty at various points in the interview, but what he says makes sense.
Hoping Mike Greenburg of Mike & Mike reads Paterno report and explains it to Golic. Golic head is thicker than that leather helmet he wore at ND. Glad he found a job he could handle, if not He'd be getting social security disability benefits for stupidity.

Yeah, he's practically screaming at points. Tone it down just a bit and sound a little more sane, but the guy knows his stuff.
You are so close to forming your own- original independent thought- keep working at it pal....it will come to you soon
