Top ten draft pick decided to come back for his senior year. Pretty shocking as Michigan fans had clearly resigned themselves to him leaving early. If he had left, they'd be losing 4/5 of their OL. Instead they return a pretty good pair of tackles.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
Guess he likes college cause he's a top10 pick. Hope he doesn't get hurt cause he will lose a lot of money and staying puts him a year further away from the big money in free agency.
Refreshing to see a kid who values his degree and enjoys the college experience. I certainly hope he stays healthy and gets his payday next year. He is a great example of what separates the Big Ten and the SEC. As much as I might bristle at the conference, I'm glad we are in one with schools that still have kids like this.

Good for him! I personally think he is making the right decision. Get that college degree, THEN go make your bucks. If worried about injury, take out an insurance plan.
It's more than valuing a degree. You can go back and get that degree at any point. I'm sure Michigan would accept him in whenever after his NFL career. Hell, he might even be a graduate (his presser didn't mention a degree from the quotes I saw). The kid wants to take care of business on the field. I like that, but I also hope he didn't blow a huge opportunity. Anything can happen in a year. Good for him to do what he thinks he needs to do, showing it isn't all about money for him.
Good for him. I was an undergrad for only two years and looking back, I would have stayed at least one more. You don't get those years back

This right here, no need to hurry through life.
gotta respect his desire to return, but honestly, it's pretty darn risky. I'm not sure his exact reasons for returning, but passing up top 10 money.... boy oh boy.

That approach certainly worked out well for Matt Barkley this season...
"On paper they have nothing to play for– no bowl games, rankings, or championships– yet they play like they have everything on the line."
This is exactly what Jake Long did, as he was Big Ten Lineman of the Year over Joe Thomas (#3 in the draft) his RS JR year, he stayed then he went #1 then next year.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Glad to have him back. Looking forward to getting you guys back on the schedule this year, too!
