"I feel it is my obligation to expose his fraud to the nastional media before he ckecks out I'm starting with the Pittsburgh reporter and hope to take his fraud national!!" Vic Surma
Well it's mission accomplished for the SURMA family - Joe's legacy is in ruins along with the reputation of your Alma Mater. Where can we send our congratulations for a job well done. It's good to have a face to put with this "accomplishment". John P. and Victor Surma - they got the job done.

Another poster on here supposedly witnessed a prominent "surgeon" having an screaming match with Paul Suhey over the Joe Pa firing and playing time was also mentioned. Playing time for Paul's son. Nothing surprises me. It's clear to me that Joe no longer had the backing of many of the power brokers on the board in the latter part of his career. But WTF is the deal with Surma living with JS?
I'm thinking Surma lived w/JS because both men were very, very close.
I always thought that Surma looked way to happy to make the announcement about Spannier and JVP. All of the stuff these guys are saying makes way to much sense, I really hope that some national media pick up on this stuff soon.
My question is this....Where has Garban been? He resinged from the board and hasn't been seen or heard from since.
I wonder if a lot of people are laying low until the Curley/Shultz trials are over?
The Suhey story is true. Paul had a big problem with Joe over playing time for his son.
The BOT cancelling Joe's Tuesday press conference was one of the dumbest things the BOT did. The media could've come in, asked their questions, churned over the 24-48 hour media cycle, and then likely moved on to the next story. Instead, PSU's missteps kept the story alive, questions remained unanswered, the narrative of a coverup got accepted as fact, and then the situation snow balled.
I don't buy the conspiracy stories though. I think the BOT intervened mainly because their egos made them want to show they were in charge -- these people are all highly successful businessmen, lawyers, and politicians -- all type-A people that aren't used to taking a backseat. The problem is that they didn't know all the facts and had no gameplan. And a committee or board is terrible at acting swiftly and creatively in a crisis. So they did what boards do when in trouble -- hire and empower a consultant (Freeh) to fix the problem.

Is this why Joe had an FBI file because of the threats made against him this one instance?
At absolute minimum, John Surma had no business running the show on this thing considering the conflict of interest.
Amen Brother, Amen.
Like I said before, he just looked like a man who was enjoying sitting there and saying that JVP was fired.
I just wish some national media would pick up on some of this stuff so these people would be asked to answer some questions.
I really wish the Curley and Shultz trials were next week.
And where has Big Red gone off and hid to? C'mon Mike come out with why you had SOOOOOOOOOO many stories about what happened and come out with why the only person who in any way backed you up was JVP....and that is because before he went to the GJ he asked you what he said back in the day and you spoon fed him what you told the GJ so it would match up never thinking he would be the only one.
Trying to run down the depth charts for 2003 thru 2005 at wide receiver for anyone who can recall or help out. Looking for PT for Vic Jr and whether or not he was ever given a scholarship or if he left the team on his own or was asked to leave?
The 2003 WR corps looked huge with 17 listed at the position on the online roster
The 2003 Roster lists no less than 17 Wide Receivers with only 2 Seniors
15 Mike Baird WR 6-3 191 SO*
1 Terrell Golden WR 6-3 204 FR
2 Josh Hannum WR 6-0 171 FR*
84 Jamal Huff WR 6-2 170 SO*
11 Tony Johnson WR 5-11 209 SR
46 Zachary Moran WR 6-2 187 FR*
13 Kinta Palmer WR 6-4 188 SO*
84 Brendan Perretta WR 5-7 166 FR
1 Anwar Phillips WR 6-1 179 SO*
9 Terrance Phillips WR 5-11 187 SO*
83 Ryan Scott WR 6-2 193 JR*
80 Scott Shirley WR 6-0 198 SR*
19 Gerald Smith WR 5-10 190 JR*
81 Jason Stryker WR 6-2 198 JR*
82 Vic Surma WR 6-0 198 FR*
31 Ernie Terrell WR 6-3 197 SO*
15 Brent Wise WR 5-10 195 FR
One source says:
Tony Johnson, Ernie Terrell, Kinta Palmer, Terrell Golden, Gerald Smith all would have been ahead of Surma. Josh Hannum, Ryan Scott probably were as well.
Did Anwar Phillips and Brent Wise move to defensive back in 2004 after playing wr in 2003?
WHAT I FOUND ONLINE PER ROSTERS 2004 AND 2005
It's not Vic Jr or Joe Paterno's fault that he walked on in a year when so many good new young wide receivers were on the depth chart ahead of him in the rotation.
By 2004 the list of Wide Receivers was seriously down from 2003 The 17 WRs had become 11 with two moving to defensive back positions. 4 of the 11 were freshmen
2 Vendemia, Gio WR Jr. 6-0 190
9 Phillips, Terrance WR Jr. 5-11 184
11 Golden, Terrell WR Fr. 6-3 208
13 Palmer, Kinta WR Jr. 6-4 194
17 Baird, Mike WR Jr. 6-3 186
19 Smith, Gerald WR Sr. 5-11 181
21 Prokopik, Joe K/WR Fr. 5-11 174
25 Perretta, Brendan WR Fr. 5-7 174
80 Rubin, Mark WR Fr. 6-3 211
82 Surma, Vic WR So. 6-0 184
83 Scott, Ryan WR Sr. 6-2 190
15 Wise, Brent CB Fr. 5-10 193
1 Phillips, Anwar CB Jr. 6-1 180
Someone who knows PSU football history will have to let us know who took the bulk of the snaps at the WR position. The stats on Vic Surma Junior are non-existent from our search.
By 2005 the WR's on the roster were up from 11 to 14 but 7 are freshmen
2 Williams, Derrick WR Fr. 6-0 195
3 Butler, Deon WR Fr. 5-10 167
4 Golden, Terrell WR So. 6-3 208
5 Kanuch, Jim WR Jr. 6-1 193
16 Corrado, Dan WR Jr. 5-11 203
16 Sargeant, Lydell WR Fr. 5-10 183
17 Timmons, Knowledge WR Fr. 5-10 178
24 Norwood, Jordan WR Fr. 5-10 162
29 Mauti, Patrick WR Fr. 5-10 188
43 Kilmer, Ethan WR Sr. 6-0 203
80 Rubin, Mark WR So. 6-3 210
82 Surma, Vic WR Jr. 6-0 193
83 Cousins, Kevin WR Fr. 6-3 199
84 McDonald, James WR Fr. 6-2 191
15 Wise, Brent CB Fr. 5-10 193
1 Phillips, Anwar CB Jr. 6-1 180
Anybody recall the situation at WR during those years or have access to Vic Jr stats?
Was Surma ever given a scholarship? Did he leave on his own or was he asked to leave?
Not an expert, but just take a look at the roster for each of these years. I suspect there are a number of walk ons who got schollies to fill positions that were not being won/filled by scholarship players. We all know WR was a huge problem during the early part of this century for PSU until the fab 5 arrived. Sooo, I guess Surma was just not good enough to play or had a problem with one of the coaches at the time.
Here is the deal. Joe never like to use younger players and for Surma's first two years I am sure there were more experienced players there. The problem came when Surma should have been entering in to "experienced" years PSU got a bunch of Freshman that would go on to become the to WR in school history. I am sure that made him mad but get over it.
He was an undersized white WR from a ritzy WPIAL School. He probably should have talent wise went to Duquense.
I agree with all of that. And another reason I don't buy the conspiracy theories is that they assume that the folks on the BoT are clever enough to come up with these brilliant schemes when their actions show they're really just bunglers.
