Like NitLionsGo, I am also a police officer. Just because a few people in our profession feel that way, doesnt speak for all of us. Ive tried to explain this to many people, like the blow hard Geiger, about what he would have done in McQuerry's shoes that nite. Of course he gave the popular "I would have jumped in there and beat the s**t out of him". I told him thats sooo easy to say now. No one really knows what you would have done!! We as humans are not programed to see this behavior as regular or common. Everyone HOPES they would do exactly the right thing-but you really wouldnt know. With the totality of the circumstances, and the whole senerio, McQuerry probably did what most people would have..make some noise, let them know your there, try and process WHAT you did or think you have seen..and then panic! Hell, when there is a bad vehicle accident, 95% of the people still rubber neck because its not common to see accidents like that are not common.
I can remember thinking when I started this work, I will have no trouble using my firearm on ANYONE! Well, let me tell you, when you are faced with that scenaro your a** tightens up to the size of a pinhead!! Reason?? All of our training doesnt include targets firing back! Police get through it but its never easy.
Sorry for the rant..By the way..very proud of Mrs. Paterno..she did a wonderful job stressing the real problem and that is child abuse!!
The intro "Victory with Honor"
How do these people screw this up? Especially when that intro is recorded well in advance of the recording of the actual show.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Was in no way trying to criticize police, I was voicing surprise about his co-workers being so set in their opinons about Joe given what we see all the time. I have far more investigations where a person living in the same house as the accused is asking me how they didn't know or talk about all the things they explained away that make sense now. I would expect that is common for all of us in policing.
I was just saying that a lot of them just read the headlines. Mainly because they had other cases to work on and none of them were from PA. They just saw the headlines and were pissed that there was another case with crimes against children.
I was just saying that I've been catching them up on the case, and they watched that and were happy to see someone care more about awareness rather than a political stance or another way to ease public perception.
In other words, Sur wanted to educate people on what really happened, rather than the rest of the world continually walking around blind thinking that this only happened cuz of football or some collusive cover up.......
You are right, if anyone does care about these cases, it is cops, because we do see them too much.
Sorry for my misunderstanding. Stay safe.
No worries brother, context is always lost over these things in forums, I'm just glad we can have discussions about it. Still have a sour taste in my mouth from how ridiculous TOS was/probably is.
Actually she said her own kids not grand kids.
I wondered the same thing. That was ridiculous.
