Awesome, congrats to him. He was a very good center for us this year.
Way to go Stank! Even if he doesn't win it, that is a great accomplishment!
Very cool to see this, he had a fine year. Really became a heck of a technician there. That said, I can't see how Barrett Jones from Alabama doesn't win this. I'll be rooting for Matt though.
Well deserved, Stank!
I don't think Stank wins the Rimington but it's awesome that he is one of the six finalists for the award. Quite a feat for him. Hopefully he busts his but for the NFL to make an impact.

I watched the Bama/Georgia game and Jones was really impressive. Bama's OL in general is just full of monsters.
I get all giddy watching them. Great recruiting and development there. I am very happy with what we have though. This offseason will be huge for the big fellers. What a lot of people don't realize is that everyone of these guys was a true freshman as far as coming into a new scheme. Going to be a big jump next season, after a pretty good jump this year.
I think Stank will definitely get drafted - probably like 5th round. Certainly not dominating, but at 6'3'' 305ish and very solid technically, I'm hoping he gets a chance on an NFL roster.
I'd love to see the physicality that South Carolina showed when Fitz was there.
That will come. We saw a HUGE increase is technique this year. Often you could tell our guys did something wrong assignment-wise, but they did it with good technique. Now is that perfect? No. But from a coaching point its good, at least as an indicator. Now the phyicality will continue to come as they get more confident in what they are doing, we saw that as the year went by. Obviouslly another winter with that psycho (Fitz) will help that big time as well. But you look at the two kids on the left side, Dieff and Smith. Both could flatten guys, but both were inconsistent. As they mature in the scheme, that will change. Mangiro is another guy. He may be our best "looking" IOL, but he didn't always know what he was doing. When that all clicks, he should be good. Now they get to watch film of themselves all winter with coaches (and hopefully voluntarily without if they are smart) and see what they did wrong and how to fix it.
Good luck Stank, you deserve it!
He's from the same place as me and my girlfriend's cousin is good friends with his family. The Raiders are looking at Stank and one of the first programs to call Stank in July was Bama.
