There was a great parity video of Rutgers Al talking with some Maryland fan...It was done like those Japanese animated news with the talking robot voice.
However, it seems to have somehow been swiped from the internet after a lot of searching.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Eh, there are some who PSU wanted...
-Muller (threw a fit because PSU didn't want him to play LT. Guess what... he is a G at RU )
-Denman (Would have stayed at Wisky if Chryst didn't leave with the OL coach... went to RU because he is friends with Muller)
-Page (RU legitimately won him over us)
-Huggins (Went to RU to be a star... is the backup and a pretty big disappointment so far)
-Pollard (RU didn't really win that battle, the NCAA did)
-Barnwell (again, RU backed into that one thanks to the NCAA)
I think that is it. Really, not many at all.
Blake Rankin, JPO, Quanzell Lambert
I love Rutgersal. When he first came around, I thought for sure it was a made up screen name making fun of Rutgers. It took me a long time to actually believe that he was a real Rutgers fan and was being completely serious. It might have been the youtube tour of the stadium that did it for me.
Anyway, God love him. He loves his Scarlet Knights and I can honestly say I have never seen him get into to pi$$ing match with those that mock him.
None of those guys had committable offers from PSU. And that is from the Rutgers mods who would love nothing more than to claim "victory" over PSU in recruiting.
I thought that was the original statement...kids who wanted PSU offers littering the depth chart
Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
That's what I mean. Their starting lineup for 2014 is a bunch of kids who wanted to come to PSU.
I gotcha now.
I'm not sure what their 2014 lineup will be. I do know that they want to play Hamilton (5 star DL) at DT despite the fact that he is having trouble keeping weight on and currently checks in at around 265. Next to him will likely be a sub-290 guy. The DE are all under 260 as well. I can just see a team lining up and knocking them off the ball. They stunt and blitz like crazy to compensate so when they miss, it's usually a big gain. It also puts pressure on their secondary which was exposed this year despite having probably top 25 type talent back there. LB is a huge question mark. It is not going to be a good unit.
On offense, it's still a mess. They do have a nice crop of young OL with Denman, Muller (who I think is seriously overrated), Brodie and Lumpkin (center is going to be a mystery). They better hope that all those guys pan out because there is zero talent behind them and they aren't getting much of anything in this year's class. QB will be Nova, who is a game manager and RB will likely be Huggins who is a bust so far (runs upright and takes too many hits). They do have a nice corps of young WRs.
Coaching is a joke. There is a reason why Kyle Flood gets zero recognition for a 9-3 season. He is conservative and his team seemed undisciplined all year (not a good combination).
Thanks for the breakdown. Honestly haven't watched them much this year or pay attention to their roster. Still if this stuff and lack of depth is that obvious, how come they don't realize it?
Do you ever post any reality checks in there Jive or are they at least figuring out some of this by themselves?
Changing topics a bit here...but there was a high 4-star CB named Darrell Givens (ranked #6 overall CB by ESPN) who wanted to go to PSU and tried to commit, but due to an administrative error (that is still not clear today) ended up at Rutgers. It was quite the stink when it happened since he was so highly valued. In case anyone is wondering what happened to him - he is now a safety at Towson after only getting into two games at Rutgers in three years.
They don't realize it because it is still the most amount of talent they have ever had at Rutgers... by far. There are some really good players on that team, but they honestly feel like a top 4 type program right away in the Big Ten. Their mods point to recruiting rankings to justify this (which they have only done decent the last two classes, and this class is ranked lower than ares despite having SEVEN more recruits). What they don't realize is that many of these mid-west schools like Nebraska, Iowa and Wisky get a bunch of talented kids that have historically been undervalued by the recruiting sites because they are coming out of those states. Also, they have no clue of the great size differential that exists between the Big Ten and the Big East. When they meet a line like Wisky, they will find out quickly.
I've dropped the truth bomb on them a couple of times (not in a trolling way, just legitimate football talk) and have been blacklisted for my efforts. They would talk about craziness like expanding the stadium (only 2 sold out games the last few years), having the best units in college football, their appeal in NYC, national championships, Rutgers academic standing, ect. Frankly, they are only a small step down from rutgersal. You know it's bad when their mod explains why you were blacklisted as simply "providing negative views that may have and adverse effect on recruits and donors of Rutgers". Really? Really???
Jive, perhaps you are going about this all wrong. U should sprout the virtue and the spirit of FAMILY and compliment on their beautiful new uniform and maybe they will take u back :)
Between the countless FAMILY, "R time" and "We R B1G" slogans, they have got to be the most gut wrenchingly douchey fanbase in college football.
