So RG3 had reconstruction of ACL and LCL. Same ACL he tore at Baylor, I believe.
what do u think the skins should do? 2013 is in jeopardy, do u think they should pull the plug on him and get him ready for 2014?
I say wait and see how he recovers, and hang on to Cousins. That way you can plan on having Cousins as your starter until RGIII is ready to go whether that me next December or 2014.
if cousins performs well in RG3s absense next year, huge trade potential.. could be a good problem to have down the road..
Adrian Peterson is not normal, and i think he only had an ACL tear with no other ligament damage.
not to mention AP didnt tear an ACL that he previously tore.

True, but we're in a new era of medicine and technology. Whatever drugs(preceiption) and training he did will now be the normal road to recovery. Before everyone was apprehensive about pushing physical limits in recovery, now because of him, they won't. I'm a skins fan, I wish they would have sat RGIII after the second TD last weekend, but we now have to play the hand we've been dealt. RGIII will be back in time for next season.
Unless Cousins gets them off to a really hot start there's no point to bringing RG3 back next year. IMO he should have been shut down after the BMore game. What did losing a home playoff game really mean? I have heard Shanny wanted to shut him down but Griffin was gigantic douche about playing.

Yeah, let's call him a douche for being a competitor, but if he sits, we call him a coward. I'll take a guy with that character and heart over a quitter any other day. After giving it a go, yeah, I agree he should've sat. In all reality, he led them to the playoffs on one leg and gained wisdom after this years experience.
Seriously though, I can't blame a guy for being so damn competitive that he tried to will his team to a win on one leg.
As for RGIII, he's anything but a douche. Kid is a class act and put it all on the line for his team.
See Vick for a glimpse into your future. With out the dog fighting.
I don't think he should of necessarily been playing, but he would of been crucified by the media & fans if he sat. so let's not act like sitting was going to be universally accepted. The bottom line is it's his knee. If the doctor cleared him to play, and he felt comfortable with it, then what can you really say. Injuries are apart of the sport, and you're gonna have to deal with them especially if you are a running QB like Griffin.
Except RGIII can function from inside the pocket and is pass first. Throw in the fact that he's already one of the best decision makers in the game and he's nothing like Vick. I can promise you this, the next few years, you'll see him avoiding excessive contact for an extra yard or two unless its the playoffs.
Mike Vick is much less intelligent than RG3.

I didn't call him a douche I said that's what I heard. Douche was the clean version of what I was told.
Hahaha, I hear you, I didn't take it personal, Im just saying the fact that people are calling him a douche is maddening.
I don't know how you can make that judgement right now. See where he's at in July and then go from there. Obviously I'd like to see him back, but too much money involved to rush him back. Speaking of money, time to take some of that and put some field turf down at FedEx. Looked bad on TV, looked worse in person.
Regardless, excited about next season. People forget the Skins played without their best player (Orakpo) from week two on and lost like 12 starting safeties. Get some help in the secondary and they can compete for the East again next season.

RG3 lives about 2 blocks from me...I'm having my kids make him get well cards. Very nice guy. I have a Halloween story about him and his fiance.
Reports are that he should be ready to go by the beginning of the season. Cousins played very well in Griffins absence this past season, and he's more than capable of leading the Skins if RG3 is not ready to start the season.
Biggest prob right now is trying to re-coup some of that 18 million in cap penalty lost, and Skins believe they have a good shot of doing so. If they can get that cap space back, and restructure a few deals(Trent Williams, DeAngelo Hall and Santana Moss) they will be in good shape to go after a RT, CB and maybe safety in free agency. The draft is very deep at safety this season, so I expect them to go there in the 2nd or 3rd.
BTW, Griffin, the team, his family and Dr Andrews decided to repair the ACL while they were in there repairing the LCL. It may have actually been a blessing in disguise that this happened when it did, because the ACL was already compromised, and could have given him problems in the future.

I heard he gave out socks.
Ran out of candy at about 7:30 but clearly EVERY kid in the hood wanted to go to RG3's house. A friend of mine lives 2 houses away said that they were passing out socks, tshirts, headbands and wristbands. Unfortunately he said it was a circus until like 10pm. He's a Halloween rookie...he didn't turn off the lights. Good for him.
Homer, You live in RCC?
Naw, I'm up in CT. I write for one of the Redskins sites though, and am very in tuned to the team.
Hey Fitz, I didn't know you were a Skins fan. Did you go to the game Sunday? Your not from that area are you?
Bigtime. Surprised you haven't picked up on it, seeing as how these guys bust my chops about it every chance they get.
Anyway, a friend got tickets so I hopped an earlier flight home from Florida and made it to the game. Such a great time before the second quarter came around. I'm from Southern Pennsylvania, probably 1:30 from FedEx, the Skins were the closest team to me growing up. Long, long time suffering so this year was pretty incredible.
I patrol your neighborhood. What a small world.
try being a seahawks fan in delaware. fairly sure that i have the state to myself
