Did anybody else see/hear about AJ Barker quitting the Minnesota football team? If the letter attached is indeed written by AJ, he took Minny coach Jerry Kill to the woodshed!
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Yeah, seen the same types of things. He didn't want to get an MRI, then needed one, then didn;t do his treatments, then got yelled at. I've known multiple people who have played for Jerry Kill at both of the last two schools he was at prior to Minnesota, and I had the chance to meet him myself of recruiting trips. Never had I heard a thing bad. I'm sure people will jump to defend him, but coaches yell, it happens. I've seen and heard worse. I don't blame the kid for leaving, that's on him and that's fine. But ya know.
We should give him a call. Bring him on. We have no scholly limits next year, offer this kid one.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
If this was written by the young man, I am quite impressed with his writing skills and would welcome him at psu with a scholarship any day. Unfortunately my wife experienced similar manipulative treatment in college as a track and xc athlete at a high profile program. Good luck to this young man.
That's a crazy person letter.
He was their star receiver and was a junior walk-on?
Unless he was loaded or just stupid, that scholarship did mean something.
Hopefully he's happier at another school, but if he's expecting to find a coach who doesn't yell he'll be sorely disappointed.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
You've heard worse than coaches belittling their players' spiritual views and calling them a homosexual slur? I agree that a lot of this is much ado about nothing (and the not ready for the bright lights type of stuff is not much different than what Joe used to say), but Kill has to defend himself on:
"You referenced my spiritual views on three different occasions claiming 'if I were a bad person I’d hold it against you'. Well, Coach Kill, taking everything into account, the fact you felt the need to say that on three different occasions goes to show that it probably did play a part in your views of me."
lol.. He shoud go to Nebraska and Coach Bo..
HMMM ... he didn't take a swipe of Kill's seizures and health issues.
If Kill worked hard and did everything he was supposed to, he wouldn't have seizures. LOL.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
