Way late for bowl dinner. I hope he loses big time and gets fired next year.
Way to go Silas picking this a-hole team.
This had to be really deflating for Georgia Tech.
There is only one place where Silas would have left for, his pop said... for a team that competes in the NC's... Ohh well. Good riddance!
Teams often times take the mindset and are molded like their coach. This just adds to that.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
They always say a team takes on the coach's personality. That why the players act like donkeys on twitter and lead the nation in personal foul penalties. At least there is karma. After poaching Silas Redd and bragging about it, you lose 5 games and end the season getting your picture taken in a big ass sombrero looking like the fool you really are. Classic.
thats an awesome line of puns after the picture of the empty restaurant
Thumbs his nose at ALL authority. Sets his OWN rules. Would like to hear him get a call from Emmert. Would be an interesting conversation.
I just found the same thing on Yahoo!
It seems kinda like the Reverse Midas Touch !!!
Probably why they were garbage this season.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS

"On paper they have nothing to play for– no bowl games, rankings, or championships– yet they play like they have everything on the line."
Serious question: Can anyone see Silas Fledd returning to that shit show for his senior year? I mean, the kid and his family, went from one of the classiest, old-school coaches to a spoiled, immature brat and a team that vastly underperformed relative to expectations. It's pretty clear that they got snookered by Kiffin. Don't get me wrong - I think he got what was coming to him and not shedding a tear. I can picture him and his family sitting around wondering "what the hell were we thinking?!?!"
I can. He may try and stay to improve his draft stock.
They won't throw the ball nearly as much next year with Wittek as they did this year with Barkley, and he'll have more of an opportunity to showcase his skills.
Also, IIRC he'd have to stay for another year to get his degree, and he may want to do that to cover all of his bases. With the RB class this season, the chance of injury next year, and another year of wasting his body without a (legitimate) paycheck, I wouldn't recommend it. However if he felt it would suit him better to go this year I could see why.
Never like to defend Kiffin, but it turns out there was a reason. Plane got in late so practice ran late so they were late for dinner. Organizers knew this so G Tech left after they ate because they were not just going to watch USC eat dinner after they were done. He's a scumbag, just not in this case.
That's still not the classy or even professional way to handle it. You decide to run the practice past its scheduled end time if your team is eating solo or not going to dinner at all. You don't do that when there's a formal bowl dinner scheduled with the other team. Typical Kiffin - thinking everyone else should adjust their schedules because his team's plane got in late.
USC is going to be even worse next year. Could see them going 4-8 if they keep the trash as their head coach.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Alabama didnt offer.
Umm...Georgia Tech arrived 2 hours later to El Paso than USC?
That is no excuse.
He's a pussing bag of $hit that deserves everything that comes his way. Karma will get him later down the road. He can't keep running from failures and rule breaking....it will catch up.
