WE ARE! And we will always be...
The TD wasn't bad. The PI was a terrible miss, but if you watch closely, both men got their hands on the ball at nearly the same time. Then, as the land, both have their hands on it - and landing is critical because it's at that moment that it becomes a TD. The fact that Jennings then rolled over and had "more" of the ball is irrelevant - the split second where they landed with joint possession was enough to create a TD.
I have to disagree here. It was SO blatant, any ref should have called it. The player he shoved would have been in the very best position to either knock it down or intercept it. So to say the NFL never called OPI on a Hail Mary - to me - is not accurate, and it shouldn't be accurate. You absolutely need to make that call.
I never said they shouldn't make the call. All I'm saying is that they're never going to. I don't like it, but that's the way it works. The Hail Mary is just one of those plays where even the replacement refs know they need to let the players play.
Disagree. Fighting for the ball is one thing. A two hand blatant shove is entirely different and they do and should call it.
