Really hoping we nab this guy!!

I thought the latest was that PSU had fallen down his list?
Think about it too..why would he be visiting schools like Rutgers and Syracuse when he has offers from all over the place?
Only adds the the credibility of his statement. National Rivals guy thinks it may be between Ohio State and Penn State.

I said the same thing when I noticed he was visiting Alabama...and Syracuse.
That's the latest trend in a very fluid recruitment... I still think, however, we're very much in the thick of it.
We need to win... The rest will take care of itself. LJ is still our DL coach...
WE ARE! And we will always be...
I'll be shocked if he goes outside of 300 miles.
True, that's a given though. Losing would turn off most recruits. Gotta love we have our best & brightest in LJ after him. I think a combo of LJ & distance is huge for us.
Woah..that's bold..so your basically going Penn State, 'Cuse, Rutgers here?
Definitely not the first recuit to feel like that (i.e. Bookser, Henry, Nicholson)
In Lj we trust!!!!
i dont know id this should be shared and dont hate me bc i am new but i read a article that sounded really good for us..
Link to the article you read?
Most kids stay within that radius. Not all but most.
Its apparent he wants to stay close to home. He mentions it quite often.
im not sure i should link a article from a different website..is that ok?
Is it a paid article or a free one? If it is free, it's fine.
Getting hard to read this kid. None of the schools in his top 4 are what you would consider close to home, but he says that's very important? I guess OSU is in a good spot for him, hopefully with another visit we can really impress him.
He might be eligible to go to USC if they're willing to buy his parents a beach house there and pay for all of the plane trips.
I agree... Hard to read him, I guess he'll know more after he completes all of his official visits hopefully....
However, most of his top schools are much further than 300 miles away. This kid is real tough to read right now, I think he wants to stay close to home as well and I don't see how he doesn't come to PSU if that is the case.
I find it interesting that he keeps referring to academics and yet Ohio State is still in the spotlight.
I didn't think academics were really talked about during other recruits visits to OSU?
It will be interesting to see who has the final say in the matter ... from this article is seems like the uncle is well involved.
EDITED as I couldn't deal with the volume of errors in my typing ... it was bad for even me.

If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Yeah, typically anyone who values academics (and actually does value them) drop OSU pretty quickly after visiting. Peppers and Hand come to mind.
That's become a standard of recruit speak. Refer to academics as being important, but then very few actually sign with a school that validates that statement. I don't really put much stock into it these days.

I read it like he was impressed by the presentation of the 4 schools he mentioned. They certainly have the "glitz and glamour" factor. As will Alabama, when he visits.
But his family is keeping him grounded in the decision process. They acknowledge the stars in his eyes but want to keep all factors (like distance and academics) in the decision criteria.
Nobody talks about a girl's personality when you're shopping around. It isn't sexy. But the one you marry has to have the total package. His family knows he needs one that provides the substance beyond the flashy romance.
So, no, I don't think PSU is out of it. I agree OSU is in a good spot, tho...dammit.
I read this differently. To me it sounds like FL schools and OSU are his top schools, while his uncle (and probably mom) wants him close. I hope he comes to PSU, but this situation is way too fluid to predict at this point. I do like that we have time for LJ to work his magic and show him what it takes to make the NFL.
