Are there any guys who might be switching positions with the new staff?
thought it was mentioned that Royer would be moved to H-back
Couple simple answers/quips first.
1. Of course
2. What year havent there been?
Seriously though, this thread should get plenty of guess, but when spring practice rolls around, we will get to find out a bunch they try and after that maybe which ones stick.
Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
I would think some WR's get looks at DB.....Kenney, Kuntz, any others anybody can think of?
Wasnt Kerner from TE to DE another one mentioned somewhere by someone.

Seems like a good position for him. Didn't he play receiver in HS?
the old staff had Kerner at DE......i would like the new staff to keep him at DE, time will tell.
He played TE in HS.
I think Kenney stays at WR, but Kuntz could potentially get a look at safety. He's also a guy who could fit a role in BOB's offense if he impresses enough.
I also think 1-2 of the OL/DL could flip sides depending on how the new staff evaluates them.
Diddy - I agree with you about Kenney but frankly we really don't have that luxury with the dire need at DB. Any others you see that could possibly move other than Kuntz? I really can't see any, doubt Allen Robinson would move to safety...not many options
Will have to rely on Golden and Lucas playing as freshman in secondary I would think.
Alosi - would love to see go to OT -
Also maybe Graham to OL as well
Diddy any specific guys you possibly see moving OL to DL or DL to OL?
Zettel needs to stay at DT, too small for OL and need his quickness at DT.
I see a lot of juggle between OL and DL. Plus WR and DB.
I think both Alosi and Graham can be starters (with time) on the OL.
Belton to RB
Kuntz to SS
Kenney to FS
Wilkerson to DE (I know he isn't even there yet, but we need him at SDE)
Kerner should STAY at DE (He was one of only two good players that PA had on defense in the BIG 33 game... the other was a kid that went to MSU to play the OL)
Alosi should STAY at DT (we are thin there, and I loved his prep film at DT)
Zettel to 5 tech DE in base and 3 tech DT in nickle packages
We have 4 CB's who can contribute. The 'dire need' is at safety, and Kenney is NOT a safety. He's not a CB either. He doesn't like playing defense. He doesn't want to play defense. He isn't good as a defensive player. People just need to let it go.
There are three other guys who could theorhetically move to DB...Kersey, Kuntz, and Belton. IMO, Kersey won't be on the team next year, nor would he embrace a switch. Kuntz is a possibility to move to safety, but that's a tough adjustment this late in his career. Belton is the best fit, but he's probably too valuable as a slot/hybrid RB option on offense to move.
IMO...the DB depth chart will look something like this...
CB: Morris, Amos, Thomas (Nickel), Wallace
S: Willis, SOA, Lucas, Keiser
Kenney and Kuntz will be the emergency 'switch' guys (ala Chaz Powell) if we get hit with injuries.
Cadogan is back at LT.
I dont think you can take Beltons offense away from our O and we just need Derrick Thomas to get on the field then our corners will be ok.
good, hope he is putting weight back on.
I have been hoping for this move for years, or to TE. Great HS receiver.

I know Royer's position may have been TE in HS. But, the games I remember he was set out wide many times.

Royer wasn't a TE, he was a WR in high school.
As for the new staff, I'm most interested to see how they evaluate the many receivers on the roster. You could see an entirely new depth chart next year.
Actually he had been moved last year to TE
