Two of those points are blips - Iowa won one "decent" game (I've bet against MSU the last 3 weeks, to put into context how "good" a win I think that is), and Wisconsin has played one decent game all year. Neither are trends. The other points are at least reasonable.
Oh, I agree with you 100%. But at a macro level, people see PSU losing to a MAC team and say "see I told you PSU will stink this year."
That is all I was saying. Basically putting words in the morths of the analysts.
Didnt Phil Steele predict Illinois to finish 2nd or 3rd in the Leaders?
With the conference so bad I'm going to point out the obvious.....every game is up in the air for every team. The only team right now that looks like they can't win is Illinois which is I'm sure music to your ears. The 11 remaining teams in this woeful conference should go into every game believing they can and should win. In looking at PSU's remaining 6 games I believe that they will be in all 6 games for sure and could easily win them all but also lose a few....turnovers and keeping your starters healthy may be the deciding factor in all of your remaining games.

If after all this team has gone through you still feel the need to post this in the lockerroom we have issues of motivation on our team.
And we don't have any issues with motivation. This shouldn't even be read by our players.
The bye week should allow a little more of the offense to be added. I see a big PSU win this Saturday. Iowa shouldn't be able to score much on the D. Not scared of road games turtle game plans anymore.
this ^^ well said.
For the record, Steele is predicting a 6-point win for the Hawkeyes...
F the NCAA
F the BOT
For his sake I hope he doesn't have any skin in this game.
As far as how we finish, I think it was kjc...on page 1 of this thread who indicated 3-3 "at least" and 4-2 "most" likely [sic]. That's my feelings exactly.
We win @ Iowa @ Purdue and home against Indiana. Of the other 3 games we've got Wisky and OSU @ home and I think we win at least one of those gameS. The decisive L could be @ Neb, but even that game is winnable.
So 4-2 seems a reasonable conclusion to the 2nd half of the season. We seem to be improving week over week, so I like our chances. It starts with a MUST win @ Iowa though.
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Bottom line, tomorrow night's game in Iowa City sets up the rest of the year. A win and you blow past Phil's six win prediction. A loss and ...
I thought after the first half of the NW game that the way the team played in the second half would determine the rest of the season. They ended up showing alot of grit, toughness and were unwilling to give up. That's why I like them to win tomorrow, but I'm not expecting it to be a blow out like some.
I think it will be close, but this team's mindset and determination puts us over the top.
I can't believe we are still talking about this asshat's pre"dick"tion... Screw this guy. All the rest of our games are highly winnable. We should fear no one on the schedule. Respect, not fear. We can win this week, and next.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
Only stated in true rmj fashion +1
WOW lol just WOW! I couldn't agree more brah.
Just saying man. We can win all of them. This guy thinks we will only win 2. We'll see. I can't wait to see Mauti destroy Garmon lol
If he was going off of results the last decade; the old regime was coaching PSU and Weisman was scheduled to play, then I can see it. However, new innovative staff; PSU is playing better than Iowa and Weisman is very very questionable. Not sure what his basis is for an Iowa six point win.
Neither do I, except I don't think he has a high opinion of BOB as a coach, while the dean of B1G coaches - who is clearly not who he was 5-10 years ago - is perceived to have the advantage.
Oh who cares what he says - Our youngmen have proven everyone wrong and will continue to do so.
Hahahah. Nicely done.....i think i've seen the exact same expressions a few other times on this board.
If we believed everything everyone has said about PSU :
1) We would all be in jail for pedophilia.
2) The University would have been shut down and demolished.
3) We cannot be punished enough for the actions of a few individuals who did not stand for what PSU represents.
I know a bit over the top but hey why not once in awhile?? Anyways I do not see us following his predictions. We weren't supposed to win hardly 1 game this year. So let them predict on. We do have a tough schedule in the second half but I think all the teams we play are beatable.
I'd love to know what Mr. Steele has to say now.
Iowa barely managed to score 6 points on offense, much less 6 points MORE than PSU.
Again, fuck Phil Steele.
I mentioned this in the game thread. This is the only conference game he got wrong this year-if I'm reading his website correctly
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
