Parker committed to PSU!!!! We are all very excited for Parker and he absolutely loved everything about his visit. The DL coach and everyone he met were very nice and really made him feel like they cared about Parker. He just needed time to let Purdue know his decision and let me tell you guys it was difficult for Parker to make that call. It was difficult because he felt bad having to make the call. This kid is ALL CLASS and you are getting a great kid!!!
BTW - he now has an offer from North Carolina too!
Thanks for the info and congrats to your family!

The PSU family is excited to have Parker in the mix! He will be learning from the absolute best in the business in Larry Johnson, Sr.
As an aside, Alabama fans have always been class in my experience. If it comes down to ND vs. Bama for the MNC, I'll be rooting for the Crimson for sure.
Good news! Thanks for the info.
Congratulations on the commitment and welcome to the PSU family!
Parker is a heck of a player and that senior film is darn good and much better than his current ranking on the site (cough cough Sean get on that cough cough).
Congrats again and we all can't wait to watch Cothren dominate on Saturdays as well as in the classroom at Penn State.

Coach Johnson was huge part in the decision. Parker is under rated BIG time...because he has played football and bball he hasn't truly worked out year round. He benches 320lbs and squats over 450lbs. He is 6'5 265lbs and can easily get to 300lbs.
Auburn wanted him as on OL and said they would put him in the NFL. All of us truly believe with hard work Coach Johnson will get him to the NFL at DL!!!
BTW - I have followed recruiting forever...and I really do believe you are getting a steal with Park.
Thanks JG2. And congrats to Parker!
Congrats! I realllllly think Parker will be a good one here, especially with his room to grow.
Can we call him Park as well? I like it
If it doesn't work out at DT maybe they can put him at fullback, yeesh.
In all seriousness, I watched the film and agree totally, he looks very underrated. Is he an early enrollee candidate?
This is coming from a guy that doesn't know much about the EE process, and a guy who's high school didn't allow EEs........ but I doubt that he could be an EE 'candidate' this late in the semester. I would think he would already need to have decided and prepared for that. (Maybe someone can help me here)
That being said, I don't believe I have seen anywhere that Parker will be an EE
Thanks for the info, JG. Welcome aboard, Parker! We're happy to have you at Penn State, and hope you enjoy your time in blue and white!
Too funny that UNC wants every DT who commits to PSU.
His senior film is terrific. We got a steal. Kid is a remarkable athlete.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
Welcome to the family Parker.
BTW - his cousin is a freshman QB...class of 2016 who could be a prospect too. Here is his 8th grade film from last year....haven't done one for this year yet.
6'1 165lbs as a freshmen
Eighth Grade year - Highlights
Great news! Congratulations to Parker and his family.
Now that we are hitting Alabama for football recruits, I suggest we also recruit some of the Alabama women to come to Penn State. The Alabama girls at the Penn St/Bama game were out of this world!
I wonder If Bob inquires about his basketball ability? He may get to catch some passes at TE U.
He obviously has the natural frame to play DT, but I like his feel for the game coming off the edge. It will be interesting to see how he fills out that frame.
Thanks JG. Congrats to your family.
Maybe like Zettel who could line up outside one play and move inside the next. Guys like that are extremely valuable
A 6'5" 300lb athletic D-linemen is just what we need. I imagine Park will hit the weights pretty hard this offseason(after basketball of course, haha), and hopefully can come into camp at 280+.
He does intrigue the heck out of me as an offensive tackle, but if defense is where he wants to play, them I'm fine with that. Hell, I was always under the impression that Devon Still would have made one heck of an offensive tackle, and he did just fine for himself at DT.

He is solid off the edge. If DT is in his future we can utilize that stunting. Any who saw the dominant Smith boys for San Fran Monday night can hope we can have the Cothran/Cothren 'brothers' performing similarly in the future. ;)
