Look at the top right of the ncaa.org website. It has a link to NCAA.com. It's not a fraud.
The footballfanatics website which is used by various organizations/companies, including 247sports, to sell NCAA-sanctioned gear for every team still sells Penn State stuff.
The "official" store of the NCAA, that is run by football fanatics, doesn't list Penn State. I am NOT a conspiracy guy but this is not a mistake.

Here is the list of schools the NCAA sells apparel for:
I'm not saying you're wrong in your sentiments by any means, but how would you explain why PSU is essentially the only college in the NCAA that does not have apparel available through the official NCAA website.
If I want apparel from the Lipscomb Bisons, it's there. St. Cloud State Huskies, it's there. Fort Hays State Tigers, it's there. But no Penn State. Not sure how this is a result of bad luck. It certainly seems like a continuation of the NCAA's punishment. But of course there may be another reason.
very odd, they just claim its a website error....i guess we'll see - i let PSU media know about it.
I don't know that that's a bogus site. I went to NCAA.org, which had a direct link to ncaa.com, which then had a link to "shop," which went to that site. Very easy to get to with two clicks. If it was a bogus site, I don't see the path being that easy (if existent at all).
I see no link for PSU, even under "All Teams." Thankfully, though, they do have Pace University, Peninsula College, and Pellissippi State, among many, many others.

@blerms i just called customer service and they said PSU has been removed. Not kidding. 866 730 9743
This is how conspiracy theories go. We find a percieved slight. We question it. We're given an explanation. We don't believe it allowing us to continue this notion that the world is out to get us. I realize that's way more fun on a Tuesday afternoon, but at a certain point we start coming across as kooks.
I guess the proof will be in if they correct this issue. I just find it highly doubtful the NCAA would be afraid of selling PSU gear. Like there are people from Mississippi State out there saying, "I was going to buy a jersey off of them, but I checked and I see they're selling Penn State stuff, so forget it now."
Do you buy every explanation that is given to you?

Per a customer service rep. "The website will no longer carry Penn State apparel at this time" Made the guy say it twice.
Football fanatics partners with multiple sites. I've seen a couple. At least one just changes the logo. 247sports doesn't even do that. The NCAA created its own website that links to fanatics and left Penn State out. How is there any misunderstanding?
why wouldn't they have done this awhile ago, why wait till now?
Guys. There is no misunderstanding. Multiple people have called and confirmed they are no longer selling PSU gear.
did it just happen now? seems weird timing.
Of course not. If my carpet is on fire and my son is standing there with a box of matches and a can of lighter fluid I don't believe him if he says the dog did it.
However, I think an internet glitch is a perfectly reasonable explanation. I believe that people deserve the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I'm sure if you have ever been wrongly accused of something you would have appreciated the same. People have made reasonable inquiries. If it is quickly corrected then I think it's obvious there was no foul play involved here. If they refuse to fix it I think the conspiracy theorists may be on to something.
In this age of facebook flashmobs it's too easy to get people whipped up into a frenzy. Bad things happen when the public jumps to conclusions and demands instant gratification. Good men get destroyed, and the will of the majority oppresses the rights of the minority. We need more statesmen, and I would think Penn State fans of all people would see that right now.
"Internet glitch" is a possible explanation, but based on circumstance (like your analogy), not a likely one. And the recent posts with the NCAA saying they won't sell PSU apparel anymore tells me I'm right.
Did they give any reason? This is BS...
WE ARE! And we will always be...
Well...it's been proven to be true. But regardless, the odds of a "glitch" that ONLY affected Penn State must be infinitesimal compares to the intentional removal of all links.
Its not a glitch, they said it is direct orders from the NCAA and was taken off as of last night........weird timing - was it because of McGloin's comments, who knows...very weird timing.
??? We need to demand an explanation... Public comments criticizing officials is not grounds for breaking ties with an NCAA member in terms of selling merchandise. This is BS and the school needs those funds to pay off our fines. We need to demand to know what the reason is. There is no just cause here IMO. This is straight BS.
Freaking ridiculous! Although I have NEVER bought anything from the site and never will. Always buy at the stores in State College (Lions Pride, SBS, Family Clothesline, McClanahans, Old State, etc.). They're only hurting themselves by losing business from those who would have shopped there. Local stores have better deals anyway. Still going to write an e-mail to NCAA and let them know how petty, ridiculous, and pathetic they are.
It's almost definitely a $ issue. I'm sure that the NCAA has to share proceeds from sales of merchandise to all participating schools. If they don't sell Penn State stuff, they probably don't have to give the school their share of the revenue.
They might as well just kick us out. Seems like that's the direction they want to go in based on not even selling our apparel. What good does that serve?! What a bunch of BS.

I called and spoke with a very courteous rep, who confirmed what you all have claimed. All PSU merchandise pulled from NCAA website with no explanation. I pried this # from her for more information and to "elaborate and elucidate" upon my thoughts. 317-917-6222.
Flood it, but be courteous.

I really don't think this is that big of a deal but I do find the "it's a glitch" response to this issue pretty funny. Amazing that this "glitch" just so happens to only remove Penn State from the website and yet at the same time leaves every other school untouched. What a remarkable coincidence.
A few people have already been told it was intentional. The "glitch" is because they didn't expect the amount of backlash
