Voices of the Board of Trustees - Deceptions, Contradictions and Failure. Great Video
For the past year, Penn State’s Board of Trustees has promised a new culture of openness and transparency. As part of this new era, the Board has; allotted time at their meetings for public comments and questions, spoken openly to student groups and organizations and held several press conferences.
Despite these initiatives (or perhaps because of them), a significant portion of the Penn State community continues to feel misled and deceived. What they have is a failure to communicate and a serious case of foot in mouth disease brought on by an inability to rationally justify decisions that are wholly unjustifiable.
Editors note: Linda Berkland has assembled a stunning array of video clips of PSU BoT members attempting to explain the inexplicable. This video of statements from the leaders selected to protect the best interests of Penn State University is a stinging indictment in their own words and voices. One bad decision has led to another compounding the initial mistake of failing to stand behind a good and decent man who gave a life of service to the university.
The leaders of this board, particularly John P. Surma, Karen Peetz, Ken Frazier, and Gov. Tom Corbett sought the expediency of sacrificing Joe Paterno and the football program in order to satisfy their own conflicted self-interests creating a conflict that will have no end until they acknowledge their failure and resign.
Warning: viewing this video can cause significant discomfort and anger - please take the necessary precautions to protect your equipment from self inflicted damage.
Wow... Just wow.
I appreciate what you are trying to do, just wondering how effective it is. You may or may not care what I think, but my suggestion to you would be to first understand what goal you are trying to accomplish. Is it to bring this piece of the story to national limelight? Spout off to a small faction of loyal followers who are already all on board?
That will determine how you deliver your message. I went to see Michael Moore's 9/11 movie with an open mind, but in my opinion he's an idiot who twists facts to support his extreme point of view, and he spent much of the movie whining rather than presenting facts in an objective manner. A small portion of America who already had similar views cheered the movie as truth, most of America however saw it as some verying level of manufactured drama, and thus his credibility is cemented as a completely biased.
When I read your post, first of all,the general layout and presentation of who you are doesn't come across as your intent is to present a credible, unbiased view (and granted, all media are biased, but there is still a more 'objective' way to present it), more an angry rant appealing to a small, already convinced, but also biased faction of the public.
Maybe that's all you can do with no national credibility, but if there are facts that need to get out there, it's going to take a different vehicle to have the broad public hear it.
Good luck to you.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
If you are trying get certain BOT 's to resign their positions (which is what we agree needs to happen), I don't believe this approach is going to work. You have to affect the targeted BOT's. Publish their respective full-time jobs and let us decide if we want to support their full time jobs by purchasing their products or services. If these companies start to see this affecting the bottom line, the BOT will have to make a decision of whether or not remain a board member or keep their full-time job. They will not resign on there own. This is my 2 cents on the matter!
I would send this to the BoT.. We all know that the trustees (except a few) are garbage.... The key is how do we make them see it?

The question is, how do you make them care?
I pretty much wanted to strangle Frazier listening to him talk down to people who know he's full of shit.
I just got a chance to watch this and came to post just about the same exact comment. It's been clear to me for a while that Peetz is an arrogant jerk who thinks she is smarter than everyone who ever asks her a question. I just had my mind blown though watching those clips of Ken Frazier. He might be more of a condescending ass than Peetz. It pains me to watch these arrogant fools, that played such a major role in the tragedy, representing our university.
As escape wrote....Wow....just wow.
I would highly recommend everyone view this video, regardless of your thoughts on the situation.
Peetz is a word that sounds like Bunt and Punt but starts with a capital 'C'. And Frazier is her enabler.
Both these tools bloviate as if they have something to hide. Merck Chemcial for Peetz, U.S. Steel for Surma and Frazier is some other big exec. Let's force them all to resign for the better of our Alma Mater!
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Bill Schryer was a class act. He never would have let Merrill Lynch shrink to the lows that that firm did during the Great Recession. He was a class act and would never have approved the current douchebags (Peetz, Frazier, Surma, et al, ) who are running this inept BoT.
Well edtee, I'm always open for good advice and any help that is offered.
You could opt to become part of our team of FREEHdom Fighters - just read this an ask see this link below
With no ties to Penn State or particular affinity for Joe as a Tennessee grad I figure I am about as objective as anyone so if my presentation appears biased it only appears that way. My reaction and response to what has happened has little to do with PSU or Joe and everything to do with the media, the Attorney General, the BoT, and Louis Freeh's misuse of power and decision to deceive.
The SMSS website and the FREEHdom Fighters depend on facts as we find them and suspicions backed up by information supplied by those who have reason to know backed up by multiple sources. That approach seems reasonable enough for us given what we're up against. We have no power, money, prestige, or influence. All we have is our credibility and any careful reading of our information will show us stating the sources as we are allowed and backing up our opinion with as much evidence as we can provide.
We have been rather successful - becoming the most visited and read website by a significant margin of several with a mission to see Due Process for Joe and PSU. We have a whole team of people who offer our information constantly to mainstream media, investigators and attorneys - and to as much of the public as we can find on sites like this, the comment sections of media stories, and through Social Media. If we had any way to do more we would certainly do it and if you think you could help us with that we could certainly use you - and I would even allow and encourage your editing suggestions and a separate page that provides a less impassioned - dryer version to please those who feel as you do.
So join us and take charge of that effort and we will offer you all the support we can.
We have a part of the team that emails this information to every BoT member, alumni club, and media member. It's pretty clear that the Media in general will not attack their own well worn narrative for the sake of a little truth.
The BoT is well aware of what they have done but with the current AG, Gov., media, and general public on their side due to their duplicity what would be their incentive to reverse a policy that has more or less held for a year with minimal success by opponents.
That doesn't mean we should give up on the obvious truth does it?
It's pretty clear that Curley and Schultz will either never be tried or they will be acquitted. - The media will never print or broadcast that story without spinning it as a technical escape due to Joe's death. It will never by a lack of McQueary credibility. None of they reported the real story of his cross-examination in the Sandusky trial and we never knew his grand jury testimony until the transcript were released a couple of weeks back. See link below for that
It's likely the lawsuit to be filed by those representing the Paterno Family, alumni, season ticket holders, students, faculty, donors, and State College business interests suing the NCAA for the absurd sanctions based on the Fact FREEH Fiction will show the serious flaws in Freeh and the "reasoning" and actions of the BoT - but when is the last time we've seen a media admit to being duped? It happens but not often. I'm optimistic this may be one of those times but it will depend on the desire and resolve of Penn Staters who really want to expose the truth.
How about joining us timoty and helping us do that?
See my reply to edtree above.
As one of the FREEHdom Fighers you instantly have a team of dedicated "JoePalogists" or Truth seekers interested in doing anything we can to do just what you want to do.
I hope you read the warning about protecting your equipment from the RAGE reaction. I could not watch the whole thing in one sitting or I would have launched my laptop across the room just to get at Frazier.
It's an uncontrollable visceral reaction to maddening pompous jerkisms.
I'd love to sucker punch this Peetz fella. He looks pretty tough though, I'd probably just hurt my hand on that ugly face of his.
Woww.. Un-f*ckin real.. i wud soo punch these douches right in the kisser..
