Thought it could be fun to post some over/unders for this coming season.... Feel free to add your own, and chime in with your thoughts.
I'll start with this one:
Deion Barnes' sack total - I'll set it at 9.5

I am taking the over. He will have 10.5
Zach Zwinak - yards rushing...... 820
Over or under ?
I say over, but just. Combo of a new qb means more rushing attempts typically, but with the other rb's playing well in the spring it will likely result in more split carries.
"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
How about this: Over / Under on team rushing total @ 2250 yds.. Im going high with new qb and saying over.. Belton and Lynch go for 500 plus each !!
Over!! No dukes or day to take carries...
But there will be lynch...
You made a mistake. When you "pull a Helwagen," you're supposed to respond to your own post under a different user name, not the same one as the OP.
I agree. I think, last year - you had Belton hurt, and Dukes and Zordich filled in ok....but Belton is lighter and healthier, and likely faster. And Lynch seems to be ready to contribute in a big way...
I'll go with the under..... I still think we have a respectable pass percentage. Our corps of TE's will really help whoever the new starting QB is. But I don't think your total is too far off, I would say something like 1,950 - 2,050
Barnes - I want to say over but I'm going to say under. I say he gets 8.5 sacks this year.
Zwinak - definitely over 820 yards rushing.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
My thought on Barnes is that he was only a freshman last year and had 6. One more year with LJ Sr. and another year with Fitz... He also just barely missed on more than a few last year.
And then on Zwinak, I just think Belton and Lynch will get a lot of touches. Especially Lynch, who very well could be a good one.
Under, I'm guessing platoon rushing with Lynch stepping up and Belton getting reps, ZZ will still start but plenty of reps spread around with the hot runner of the game getting more snaps.
Over, this kid is on a mission. Some kids have ability, others drive, precious few have the total package, Barnes has the full package and the it factor, he will achieve great things.
How about: Jesse James TD receptions.... at 8
Over or Under ?
Under. I'm thinking around 6 for him. There's so many weapons on offense to compete with him. Still can't wait to see the year he'll have
"We have a culture of integrity. That's not new at Penn State and that's not going to get old at Penn State."
Under. Too many other weapons on offense. I agree, I think 6 is a solid number.

I'm gonna go Push here. I think 8 is the number. He had 5 last year. I have to think a big 6'7" target is ideal in the red zone. You pretty much can't cover him. Jump ball.....goes to Jesse James. I think we hear that often in 2013.
But you also have carter, wilkerson, robinson, lewis, BMF, the rbs, and on and on. There's only going to be so many opportunities. Also if bench winds up being the qb, red zone scrambles are a possibility
Good points! This offense has the potential to be lethal, huh ??!!?? My only thing with JJ is that it's easier to get him the ball, especially in the Red
Zone. "Just" throw up a jump ball. That should be really appealing to a new QB.
Under, with a question mark for who is chucking the rock and the depth at TE and a returning stud WR there seems to be too many weapons to spread the wealth around. But the big question is who is chucking the rock and how effective with he be at passing TD's?
If ZZ was getting all the carries he'd definitely break it but I'm expecting lynch and Belton to earn enough carries where he doesn't... I'd love a 3 headed attack that enables (sorry for using this word) flexibility... I expect great yards per carry from ZZ but less yards
How about home attendance at 96,730 (last years number) over/under
I'll say over but only by a whisker
a year away from everything, people buying into the success of BOB....I go over. Closer to 100k than 96.
I hurt inside every time I see how little love ZZ gets
Kid had a 1000 yard season, and had 3 guys in front of him on the depth chart.
Remember how Nebraska/Wisconsin were supposed to shut down our running game with big front 7s? Cause I remember watching ZZ run over and around those teams.
Over 1000 yards... again.. closing in on 1500 IMO.. better oline
I am with you here 100%. People forget he only played 75% of the season. The line this year is going to be good. Other starting lineman have already said that the center position will not skip a beat, RT will be comparable with rest being better and stronger. The QB will rely on the run game while getting through the learning curve. If ZZ gets 20 carries a game (which I think he will even with Lynch and Belton getting carries), he could be over 500 before Big 10 play begins.
Call me a homer, but if he were the only back and stayed healthy, I think he would get 1,500 yards and 12TD and be in conversation for All Big 10 (25 carries per game x 5 ypc x 12 games).
