Top247 QB Chance Stewart decommits from Wisconsin.
The Wisky staff better know what they are doing. They basically ignored him until he decommitted, from the sounds of it.
Is there a story to this one? I jumped over to the Sconnie and Blue Boards, and cannot find anything.
"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
I only know what I've seen in the articles (haven't checked out their board since he decommitted), but basically that's it - they seemingly ignored him, didn't call, didn't contact him, even after NSD. Then they finally called him, but they didn't clarify anything.
Sounds like Wisconsin is going after bigger game, like Kyle Allen in Arizona, but still. I'd also say that Stewart seems a bit overrated based on his offers, but it wasn't the best way to handle it, IMO.
Looks like Se'Von Pittman has been granted his release from Ohio State. If you remember, this is the kid that was committed to Michigan State (in the recruiting class of 2012) for a while before Urban came along and flipped him.
What's funny to me is that the Bucknuts seem to constantly complain when Saban dumps kids (like the ones who were arrested not long ago), but they have no problem with Urban doing the exact same thing.
What's the excuse for his release?

IIRC, OSU wasn't supposed to have a big class this past year, but all the sudden like six or seven new spots in the class happened. He dumped kids upon his arrival.
Couple others that he could get rid of as well, it sounds like.
RWC: they simply say that he wasn't putting in the work. Some of the posts are free on their board if you want to take a gander.
Yeah I did some reading. Sounds like the material covered in Intro to Snake Oil Spin 101.
Yeah, "wasn't putting work in." I'm also sure that his knee injury has absolutely nothing to do with everyone being hunky-dory about a "fresh start."
Is it just me or does Michigan recruiting, although ranked very high the last two years, isn't going to produce as much excitement on the field as they think?
They've loaded up on OL, which only 5 are on the field, they have a good RB commit, but they haven't addressed any playmaker type athletes on the outside on offense or defense. I'm sorry, but I've become a believer that speed in certain positions is a must to win in CFB these days. They say "Bama does it this way"... But no they don't, Bama does it that way, PLUS good athletes on the outside, PLUS 2 or 3 different RB's rotating through, and then they have better athletes on defense than you line up on offense...Michigan is a long LONG way from doing it the way Bama does. I'm not bashing them as I would rather see them than the bucknutters be the BIG's representation while we are "away"... I'm not gonna lie, O$U's recruiting scares me a bit, he is getting a ton of speed, and seems to be building the defense the way they do it down south.
OL Coleman Thomas commits to Tennessee. I don't think he was on our radar, but he had a lot of regional offers from UVA, VT, Maryland, Pitt, etc.
Top50 WR Drake Harris has decommitted from Michigan State. Said they are no longer under consideration. He's visited Michigan three weekends in a row, but claims no leaders and will visit Florida, FSU, and OSU in the next couple months.
Some of the MSU meltdown is brutal...almost on par with Pitt when DJ committed here.
"I hope the kid breaks his tibia, and it shoots through his right eye."
Hmm. Broken tibia shooting through the eye vs. hoping a kid has children who get raped at PSU.
Both are pretty sick, but I still think Pitt wins this round.
I completely agree...hence the 'almost', ha.
Some sick people all around. The MSU/Maryland/Pitt boards have the most vile posters. Luckily, Pitt doesn't have enough posters for people to notice.
Word around town is he loved him some green. Speculation is that was what really what kept him out last year. I just don't see any coach giving up on an ATH like that after just one year.
I saw a VIP post about Peppers a few topics down...is that Jabrill Peppers? Are you guys making a move on him? Any rumblings on which way Montae Nicholson is leaning? Haven't heard much on those two from the OSU side in a while. TIA
Yes, Jabrill Peppers. It looks like he's interested in us, though not quite sure how interested. With our low scholarship #'s, he's intrigued by playing both sides of the ball for Penn State and playing early.
Nicholson has been pretty quiet. We've heard that he liked his visit to Penn State, but not much outside of that.
Now speculation is Pittman may have been involved in this...
5* RB Jalen Hurd committed to Tennessee. Shocking, considering OSU has been considered his favorite for a while.
BobLichtenfels: #MichiganState has offered Aliquippa (Pa.) Athlete Dravon Henry as a corner #MSU #Spartans
Is CB Felix Manus-Schell from Erie Cathedral Prep on PSU's radar? I love the 2 ECP guys we got this year, I was wondering if Felix is any good?
He is on the radar. I think Penn State wants him to camp in the summer.
Not really. He's been mentioned, but with our scholarship limitations, it doesn't seem like PSU will make a move for him.
QB AJ Long committed to Syracuse.
Wouldn't put this in here except, if anyone remembers, he played in Philly. Transferred to a school in Tennessee just recently (after this past season?). Was a name that was on Penn State's radar a while back, not so much anymore I don't think.
