"Left knee injury," eh?
Belichick would be proud.

Bummer, but I think we all sensed that. To MM...he just needs to realize that there are a lot worse things in life that can happen to him. He'll get past this and move on to a fine career in football. If Vandy ever left the staff, MM would be the first phone call I'd make. Get well son and enjoy the rest of your life. There's a LOT more left.
On the one hand, if there's anyone that could mentally and physically withstand a third serious knee injury and come all the way back from it, it's Mike Mauti.
On the other, it's utterly unfair that he has to.
I can't imagine Mauti won't be coming out of the tunnel, even if it's on crutches, for senior day. The dude will probably get a ovation that rivals the one Adam Taliaferro received when he led the team out in 2001 vs. Miami.

Did anyone else notice he swatted a trainer when they tried to pick him up? Trainer fool trying to take "pity" on an Iron Lion! Mauti is a MAN.
If this were the NHL, Mauti would be out with a lower body injury.
Chances he still wins B1G Defensive Player of the Year? Anyone?
Hopefully good but it'll probably go to someone at OSU or Nebraska. Who I don't know. Hopefully Hodges sticks out now if it isn't Mauti.
I think no one has meant more to their team then Mauti has to ours and his play backs that up too, minus the last game and a half since he's done.
Sad thing is that he could be the difference maker whether we beat Wisky or not...he is that good.
There is NO ONE on either of those two teams that deserves the defensive player of the year.
Stranger things have happened my man.
Clearly, you're not familiar with the NHL "law of diagonals". A Right knee injury is listed as Left upper body injury.
Not only would I bet on John Simon or Hankins winning DPOY, I will bet that both Hodges and Mauti aren't on 1st Team. And there's a chance neither are.
I know exactly where you are coming from but unless they changed things they have media and coaches 1st teams and awards. They might have combined those into one since the BTN has an awards show. If they still have the coaches, Mauti seems to be well respected by the coaches. He does not have a chance with the media.
Meant the media awards. That's my fault. That said, even coaches I'd bet all but the both not being on 1st Team.
