Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured .but not prove they're a citizen
Reading this thread is depressing the hell out of me. I used to play guitar and record music with a friend right after I got out of college, felt like I knew the music scene very well. Fast forward more than a decade, toss in a couple kids, and it's quite clear I know almost nothing about the current (non pop radio) music scene.
And to answer the original question, I just popped in Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris' All the Road Running album for the first time in a long time. Simple, beautiful song writing and singing.
Finally a band/artist that I recognize and care about.
If your an AIC fan I strongly suggest getting the box set. Its AWESOME.
Too many to list, but here's some of the bands on the regular rotation: Radiohead, Beach House, Arcade Fire, The National, Pinback, Phantogram, Decemberists, Beirut, Silversun Pickups, Interpol, Cold War Kids among others......
Saw Radiohead in San Jose back in April, 3rd time seeing them live. Still in my top 3 as far as live concerts go. Downloaded all their live shows that I've been to and it definitely brings back some great memories.
To be a champion you must act like one, act like a champion.

Ha, so true. I feel I've become that stereotype of telling kids music today sucks and how great it was when I was a kid. Lol
I love Knocker. Did you see him a few years back when he came to Dayton?
Hey everybody, you all should check out the inaugural catalpa festival on Randall's island nyc I jus bought my tickets it's actually affordable compared to others. Some of the artists are the black keys, umphreys McGee? Matt and kim, girl talk, snoop dogg (doing the doggy style album haha) an more
Yes he is. One of the few artists whose music I never get tired of.
I'm not sure what I should start out with today, some Chuck Berry or some Otis Redding?
All I listen to at work is mainstream country, most of which is crap and sounds like it was made on a computer. The country I like, which happens to be the radio station that sponsors where I work, is scratchy and people next to me don't like it.

Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Lately I have been listening to a lot of Tool, Mishka, John Butler Trio, and Citizen Cope.
Love credence, so good.
Today I felt like listening to Making Mirrors by Gotye. He is a godsend really with all the music nowadays.
How about some upvotes for the OP? God knows I need them.
I have one upvote left, and I am not afraid to use it!!!
EFFING GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY BABY!!!
Getting fired up for the show at Red Rocks tonight. Party bus arrives at my house at 3:30 MST.
It is going to be INSANE!
Aldean, Church. Chesney(especially his older stuff lately)
I saw Matt and Kim play at that Moving Out festival or whatever it is called on the Hub Lawn at end of spring semester. Pretty good.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Heard Red Rocks is the best place to watch a concert. I was in a DMB groove at one point in my life (sorry Sneaky and others) and heard his best shows were at the Red Rock. Heard the sounds are good there too due to the rock.
Yea man that's cool Matt and kim shows are fun lots of energy
Ghostland is great love the light show. Anyone go to edc?
What you heard is 100% correct. I think it's impossible to have a bad show there.
Red rocks and the gorge are on my bucket list of places to see shows at can't wait to make it out
At some point, I will. Maybe the one in Vegas next year. I was at Ultra in Miami this year -- That was my big festival for the year. Also want to hit up Coachella(sp?) some year soon.
You can never go wrong with Pearl Jam or Springsteen.
Have you seen Church live? I saw him a couple months back and he puts on a very good show.
Yea man I'm planning on Vegas or edc next year I did edc nyc this year it was fun but sucked it wasnt all night long. I want to do coachella as well that's like one of the only ones I haven't been to.
