I'm pretty sure he's not sweating it.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Burning bridges is never a good idea, because you never know when circumstances might change. I do find this all funny, but it's really risky to do something like that.
And I'm not talking just football recruiting. That goes for everything.

If he was 22 and interviewing for a job on Wall Street, I'd agree it wasn't a good move. But he's not and it wasn't. The fact that anyone cares about this situation epitomizes the "culture" of football. Someone posted about Meyer being one of the "most prominent" football coaches in the country? Big fighting deal. The kid told Meyer's assistant he wasn't interested. Meyer believes the same BS as half this board that he can just show his face and kids will fawn all over him? Serves him right.
Do you have a learning disability, or is your burning hatred for Urban Meyer just hindering your reading comprehension?
I don't think it's a big deal. I don't see how it's burning bridges, really. Jadeveon Clowney made fun of Nick Saban's recruiting strategies after he signed with USCe.
No and no.
I guess like anyone, He should have known what "No" means. He puts himself in that position to look like an ass. The kid clearly wasn't interested and should have respected his position and communication. I'll give the kid a lot if credit for having the strength to stick with his commitment, say no to a big time coach, and follow through with his commitment. Good for him!!
I'm certainly no Buckeye fan, but those of you painting Meyer as anything but an aggressive recruiter are nuts. UM decided to take a last shot at makng an impression on a kid. He took a day out of his schedule and made the trip. He knew the story. He knew the chances. But as a calculated risk, it has probably worked before. He did not put himself in a position to look like an ass. He put himself in a position to be told NO, to be rejected.
The kid had every right to say no. He also is to be applauded for doing so, especially after committing to a school. Stick to your commitment. Kudos. But then he turned into the spoiled immature kid. When asked, all he had to say is that he told UM "no" and he would be the good guy. But in crossing the line and describing UM as a crying whatever, he became the story. Not UM. Hope that's what he wanted. It shows a lack of class. He went for the cheap laugh, when the high road would have worked better. But wait ... would this even be a story if he did that? Probably not.
Except as a bar joke, I'm stunned that anyone over the age of 16 is taking sides with the kid.
I disagree with literally everything in this post. And I would if it was BOB doing same thing. To the posters who say this kid had accomplished nothing compared to "Mr Big Shot football coach", who the hell chose to "take time out of his schedule and make the trip"? Who's chasing whom?
In a time when all schools are having budget issues, the fact that this particular douche of a coach chose to waste his school's money to try to sway a "spoiled, immature" kid that already told him he wasn't interested is wrong on every level.
I love this thread. your allowed to say no, but not talk about it (that's gloating). your not allowed to burn bridges with somebody you have no intentions on dealing with in your life (that's not smart) why? telling UM classy like "no" burned that bridge with UM.
The problem with this is "No means No", that's the fighting problem. That'd be like you guys showing up for a date, when the girl already said NO. It means NO, and DB's like UM don't get that, maybe he needs ridiculed to understand what "NO" means. .
Yeah, I know. I got it from your earlier posts. But tell me again.
At least I'm consistent! Lol.
