And if he does EE he sure as hell had better not go out on Thursday nights.
I'll feel alot better about it when we have 6-7 wins.
Outside of losing two close games, I haven't seen anything with the program which would make worry about him sticking. That said, i won't feel really good about it until he's on campus.
Sounds like he doesn't know that Ficken is actually on scholarship. That said, I do think we should have 1 scholarship kicker and punter of our 65.
Not just Thursdays. That's more acceptable. Tonight concerns me though. I know you guys say that it doesn't matter, but I don't want them celebrating a loss. Especially after I saw and heard Moye hurting himself last year.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
Do you cut Ficken?

Maybe you can mass email the team with what u deem acceptable social behavior for 18-22 yr olds.
Even if you cut him or he quits, he still keeps his scholarship thanks to Emmert and company.
See Royer, Dakota.
That's not what I meant, I was saying we shouldnt rely on walkons during the 65 years as kickers and punters. I was agreeing wit him that kickers are worth it.
Im not saying that man, it's just frustrating. I feel like this...
And I have too many friends in the bar industry in town telling me that this happens all the time... Hopefully the seniors change the culture with some guys. Not all of them do this, just a select few. But I see it as a problem. Steph Morris said himself in an interview after the BW game this year that this year was the first time where the team was all business and not everyone was talking about going out and partying. And he was being honest and telling the truth about it. Anyone that is still in town or knows anyone in the industry in State College, knows this is true. Moye was a clown that was notorious for acting like a jackass after a loss. Hence his broken foot. And his slipped draft status. I heard that Kerry Collins was pretty bad too, but they won games.

You can't. Who else do you have at this point? It should tell you about the capabilities of the back-up kicker, whoever the hell he is.
Cut Ficken......are you serious??? This kid had a bad game. He stuck with Penn State when he could have turned his back and went somewhere else. Now, many want to turn their backs on him after a bad game or two?? Not me...I'll support any player that sticks with us.
After watching him perform, where else would he go? It seems as though PSU is the chump here. Its quite obvious that he's not a D-1 player, and he doesnt deserve kudos just for being on the roster.
I'll support any kid who sticks as well, but after today I think he should ride the bench until he proves he can kick a mid range field goal. He wasn't even close today. with 40,000 kids on campus I bet a few can put it through the uprights from 20-30 yards out.
Penn State Forever
Do you remember Alex Serna from Oregon State?...the kid missed 3 extrapoints in a game against LSU. The kid ended up being a Groza award winner and multiple time AA. I am not saying Ficken will make those strides, but he could become serviceable...
He has the leg, its just rebuilding his confidence and working on cleaning up his approach.
I would agree with you that after yesterday, he wouldn't have many options. That wasn't my point. My point was that he could have left along with Fera and then we would have been in an even worse position (I know some will argue with that.). I am not saying that exploring other options is a bad idea, but cutting him is. What would that say to recruits interested in Penn State? Have a bad game and you are gone? By the way, I haven't heard anyone mention the fact that Allen Robinson (who had another great game) dropped a clear TD pass by Bench. That's another 6 points left on the field.
We can't cut anyone on scholarship per the NCAA sanctions. If we do, we have to give them a scholarship to complete their degrees.
Ficken and many others had a bad day and we need to stand behind this team during the highs and lows. He can kick and he knows it because he made numerous attempts during practices. He even made a 52 yarder during half time practice. Maybe practice with loud music playing to help him focus.
Yes I supported the team by going to the game and the VA fans were awesome and supportive. There were about 1/3 PSU fans there and we were loud.
I think we should cut any player who has a bad game, ever. Not D1 material. D1 players don't have bad games, it's time these guys got the memo.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Bench tweeted that it is cold outside and he's not a happy camper. Anyone else a bit worried about a freshman backup QB from South GA during B1G play in November?
