MI-5 from the BBC. You can download 8 seasons on Itunes or Amazon. It costs you something, but you can watch as many episodes as you want every night.
I have seen all those shows except the Americans
Dexter, Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad are all great. Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family are 3 of the best comedies. I am bummed hat Weeds is completely done.
+1 to Deadliest Catch.....when does the new season start up?
It's a show that either you will love or hate...depending on the type of humor you enjoy...no real story line, so you can jump in any time
Not sure how old school you want to go, but how about Mash or Cheers?
Love Breaking Bad and all caught up! Just biding my time until it starts back up again. It is my number one show on TV that is still running. Although because I read the books, Game of Thrones is up there.
Regarding Sparticus, how good is it after the first season? I loved the first season, tried watching the first episode of the second season and it just didn't seem as good considering the main character died in real life.
First season of Archer was really good, haven't had a chance to catch up tho.
ATHF was also a college favorite of mine too.

Best show ever made.
The second season, which actually takes place prior to the 1st season was pretty good.
I wasn't able to get into the 3rd season though.
Oh okay, I was thinking about watching that season (wasn't it only like 4/5 episodes?).
I think they killed off way too many people in the end of the first season.
Really like the following. It is dark and evil, and a bit on the gory side...but is captivating and suspenseful.
Homeland is the best show on TV.
Lost is my favorite of all time.
Fringe was tremendous..watch it if you didn't.
The Americans seems promising. Game of Thrones is great. Sherlock is great. Enjoying Downton Abbey, as well, although I did not expect to.
This! They don't make them like they used to.
I watched all 5 seasons of the wire recently and I can't seem to 'get into' anything else. Tried The Shield, Sopranos, Breaking Bad and OZ.. Thinking about trying Friday Night Lights
OZ and the Wire were awesome..Longmire from A&E was supposed to be given a new season, but I havent seen it yet.
I like the First 48 hours, my better half follows Snapped and all of those Crime TV shows religiously. I think I am headed for an unexplained finale.....

You won't regret it. I've probably seen the whole series twice and wouldn't mind watching it again.
Rather than repeat the solid shows listed, I've found myself hooked on an offbeat choice:
Avatar: Legend of Korra is an extremely well done animated series on Nickelodean.
For background, you can get the original Avatar: the Last Airbender series. Korra is just about to release season 2 so it's a good time to catch up on Season 1.

Somewhat stunned that on the PSU football board no one has mentioned "Friday Night Lights."
My wife and I have watched many of the good shows already mentioned (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Lost, Downton Abby) and they are terrific, but without a doubt FNL is the best drama we've ever watched on TV. NBC completely screwed up the marketing with this show as they billed it as a 90210 with football. Then they kept switching the nights it was on so it could never get a big audience. It finally got some recognition in its final year when Kyle Chandler won the best actor Emmy and it got nominated for best show. We gave the box set to my parents for x-mas and my mother (who is not a football fan) was initially pretty disgusted with the gift. After seeing the 1st episode or two, they started watching 3-4 episodes a night until they finished the series (5 years).
Agreed. Great show.
Very good show, I am a huge Connie Britton fan. I also like that someone mentioned OZ...I forgot the name, but I remember watching episodes before. I need to get that in a boxset.
I cant believe in my post above I forgot about Homeland! Really incredible.
And for the poster who mentioned trying Breaking Bad but not being able to "get into it" like the Wire, I will say that not much else really compares to the Wire...period, but in that next tier of really amazing shows, really give Breaking Bad a chance. Its pretty amazing.
