Why would Tomlin hire Todd Haley as offensive coordinator?? The Steelers offense has no identity or rhythm. Best receiving core in the NFL with a future HOF QB and they struggle to score. Steelers are horrible right now... No way we win two in a row to get in the playoffs... Is there any way we can hire BOB to call the plays for the rest of the season or is that against NCAA rules? LOL!
It's part of the Rooney rule. Tomlin had to hire a shitty white OC.
Best receiving core in the NFL? Come on now. I do like the BOB idea !
Now that's some funny shizz right there. Hell I think hiring Jay (and he would qualify to your requirements above) to call the plays the rest of the year would be an improvement. Won't help that defense though. Wow, what a day for Josh Victorian yesterday huh? Yikes.
That is my name on their tops and no one can tell me any different!!!!
I keep hearing this but I just don't see it. See lots of drops,
If you mean best receiving core with no football sense, stupid 1st down dances, act tough after every catch, and give half-assed effort in the NFL, then I'd agree. Im speaking to the the "Young Money" crew.

"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Pretty sure the Rooneys handcuffed Tomlin in hiring Haley. I never saw a problem with Ariens. People hated him and IDK why. The offense produced, sure it sputtered at the wrong times but I'm 100% convinced the NFL is about getting to the playoffs, after that it's a crapshoot of matchups and luck. Mike Wallace also lost a ton of money this year. Should have signed the deal when you could.
I believe the Steelers wanted to go back to the run game again as we seemed to be moving away from that as the years went on with Arians, which I agreed with as I think the teams you still see winning championships save a few odd years with Peyton Manning/Aaron Rodgers at QB. in both college and NFL have a couple things in common:
1. Strong run game.
2. Stout defense.
Well, our run game is absolutely pathetic.
I think Haley has done just fine this year. He's dealt with a revolving door at oline, not to mention Ben was playing as good as any QB in the league until he got hurt. He's also not responsible for our players being idiots with the football, thanks Antonio Brown.
"Young Money" needs a paycut.
I agree with this to an extent. Against SD last week the Steelers got beat at their own game. More short stuff underneath is what needs called. Wallace is the only deep threat, and there's only a slight he will catch the ball even it hits him in stride. In the 2nd half yesterday, whether it was Ben or Haley, Heath Miller was not even thrown the ball. On multiple plays he couldn't throw the ball 5 yards to RBs. Cotchery has some of the better hands on the team and is rarely utilized.
Also, I'm ready for either Lebeau to retire, or we buy some young proven blood on defense. No play-makers at all on D, and not very aggressive...

I'm ready to move on from LeBeau as well, and yes this needs to be a defense centric draft for us.
He can take the turnpike East.
Not sure you have the personnel to switch to a 3-4.
Steelers don't even have close to the best WR core in the league
No not at this point.
Brown fumbles have cost at least this past game and I think the Raiders game as well. Wallace has as many drops as receptions and if I were the Rooneys would play that tape when his agent asks for more money. The talent is there but evidently not the mental focus.
Not even close.
Funny how when a RB fumbles a ball they get benched and don't start the next game. Brown and Wallace continually fumble balls with no repercussion.
I would take Atlanta's WR core before just about anyone's.
Atlanta and GB have the two best probably. I'd say GB is best because of how deep they are.
Probably not right now, but it sounds like the team is getting blown up anyway.
Hard to have a run game when you only have one good offensive lineman. If they want to have a run game, they'll have to invest in some FA offensive lineman, rather than trying to build through the draft. The latter will work, but it will take too long if they want to run NOW.
I think it was hyperbole when he said "best receiving core in the NFL," but there's little doubt that when those guys are focusing (and you're including TE), they're near the top of that next tier.
I agree. I like Cobb and Jones more than Nelson and Jennings. But if they ever had a 4 wr set (all healthy) with those 4 it would be pretty hard to defend.
I like Atlanta's because of the size of White and Jones. Douglas makes his share of catches in the clutch too. GB runs an offense based on speed and timing, so their wr's suit the bill. Both really good though.
I don't get the Lebeau needs to go talk.
Do not get it at all.
Second, this was an aging/injured defense that is still among the top in the league statistically.
All four are terrific players, Cobb has really come on this year and is one of the best playmakers in the league. Jennings and Nelson have been hurt all year, but last year were both amazing. All four should be healthy by playoff time, will be interesting how they are all used, because all four have a right to play and get the ball.
