That's a good call...Draxler has a lot of quality. Big kid too.
So the USMNT is playing a friendly against Belgium in Cleveland in May. I'd really like to go see that game.
Nice. Belgium is a nice young team. I was in Belgium for the 1-0 US loss in Brussels in 2011, but the Rode Duivels have come a long long way since then. Cleveland seems like an odd location to me, no?
I guess they're trying to mix it up location wise. Belgium is one of the teams that should be really interesting to follow going forward and should be a real test for the US.
Too bad the PSU bball game is on now, I'd like to ending to Inter-Tottenham.
Torres goal. He scores when he wants.
Meyer4Prez "This is wut happens when ur team site analyst are huge homers glad Bill K+Alex G keep it real instead of getting our hopes up."
He clanks PKs when he wants too. Every time he takes a step forward...two back.
How is Ashley Cole doing this year?
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Malaga v Dortmund
Real Madrid v Galatasaray
PSG v Barcelona
Bayern v Juventus
Chelsea v Rubin Kazan (Russia)
Tottenham v Basel
Lazio v Fenerbahce
Newcastle v Benfica
Bayern vs Juventus is a heavyweight bout.
Regarding Real Madrid, I was just hoping to not draw Bayern. Gala or Malaga were the best case scenarios, so I'm perfectly OK with this.
Reminder that there is no bracket this yr. A separate semifinal draw will occur after QFs. Ill take Dortmund, Real, Barca, and ? on Bayern/Juve. Gut says Juve at this point. To me, those are the 5 best teams in Europe so I hope they comprise the semis.
A couple nice revenge matchups to watch: Ibra vs Barca and Sneijder (and Altintop to a lesser extent) against Real Madrid. Do not underestimate the hate that Ibra has for that entire club including Messi. Sneijder isn't really hate, but he sure whined and cried sour grapes after he left Madrid. I'm more confident that Ibra will back up his talk. Sneijder never could when he was in Madrid the last time. I'm very interested to see what response he gets from the Bernabeu.
Crap. I was hoping Juve would get a better draw. They could have used an easy matchup so that Chielini could come back next round. Dortmund is getting all the breaks this year.
Happy days with my Magpies squeaking through to the final 8 of Europa. Tough draw with benfica though....

Can't say Dortmund doesn't deserve a few breaks after finishing first in the group of death.
Huge result for Everton today and pretty much clinching United's championship. City fans can complain about the Fellaini handball, but its all fair considering Mirallas' non-goal. Despite the goal not mattering, hopefully the second goal will give Jelavic some confidence as Everton battles for 5th moving forward.
Great performance...result was well deserved. If United don't stumble today, the title race is well over. But, the race for 2-6 will be very interesting over the final 10 rounds.
Everton is really going to struggle with suspensions with Stoke in two weeks, but if Mirallas and Coleman keep playing well they can still get 3 points.
I'm really looking forward to Swansea-Arsenal at the top of the hour. Big game for both teams.
70 yard game winner in the 88th minute. Wow.
Senegalese defender Mor Diouf scores from 70 yards to give South African Premier Division side SuperSport United a 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Being a Liverpool fan is tough. We beat a top 5 team in the Spurs, but are now losing to a lesser team.
I have one upvote left, and I am not afraid to use it!!!
What Everton's done all year.
Everton has wins against City, United, and Spurs (only game thus far) this year with a draw in the only game against Arsenal and a tie in the other City game.
Edit- And Southampton has played the top half of the table very competitively recently.

So we need at least three points from our next round of qualifiers, which includes a game against Mexico, and we throw a roster out there with no Howard, Donovan, or Boca.
To say I'm less than optimistic would be an understatement. We HAVE to pull one of these qualifiers out for three points, and there's no chance that happens against Mexico with our b-team on the field.
Apparently JK didn't select Boca for the roster because he hasn't been playing much for his club team in Spain. To me, this is stupid. Boca is a leader, and our only defenseman with any sort of experience on the back line. He's used to tough situations, he's been there before. Why not bring him in, and sit him on the bench in case of injury to Cameron or Gonzo? At the very least he could provide a level-head in the locker room and give advice to a back like that has been awful without him in it.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Interesting article by SN.
I like JK, and think his vision is what American soccer needs to take that next step, but apparently things aren't swell in the locker room.

Just got done reading that article. If the locker room dynamic is as bad as that article makes it seem, there is no way they make the World Cup
