Don't think he even had a foul
I don't think so either. Even beyond the assist, he'd been having a pretty good match. The red was solely based on that one challenge, which makes the decision even stranger.
Nani stayed down and acted hurt for a bit, but nothing I haven't seen a thousand times. I strongly doubt it influenced the ref's decision...... which was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS.
It's usually a good sign that it was an epically awful call when no one in the stadium, no one watching at home or a bar, blind people, senile people, sea creatures who live at the bottom of ocean, and the aliens who tune in a trillion light years away all were completely shocked when he pulled out the red card.
Bad call. But anything that upsets fergie that much is just fine with me

I was somewhat curious when the ref so dramatically arrived on the scene. Granted, it took Nani a while to get off the ground but something seemed abnormal about the ref's approach. He looked poised to do something substantial, and he's done so on multiple occasions in the past. It made no sense...seemed like a straight forward yellow to me. Then, the ref starts abruptly dispatching players from the scene and towering over Nani. Out came the red...on went Los Blancos.
You mean Los Verdes.
Just crazy and sad. That hurts the integrity of the game, which has had it's share of BS ref calls.
Soccer was my sport to play since I was 6 and having a ref take over a game was the absolute worse ... I'm also not a fan of the laying around on the pitch like a damn fool ("in pain") and then moments later running full sprint. They should institute a 10 count and if you aren't up on your own, you sit for 5 minutes.
It's a physical game and I just hate seeing these guys make it look like a bunch of fairy's play it.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Who are the serious senior squad prospects for us at that level?
Is Gatt playing on the u20 team, or did he stick with his club? I think he's still 19, but could be wrong there.
Also, it seems Mexico has been one of the best squads in the world at the u20 level. It's strange that hasn't translated into much success at the big boy level.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Tim Howard is hurt and This is not good
Tell me about it. Everton has to rely on Jan Mucha right now in the middle of a cup push and battling for Europe.
(and yes, not good for the US).
So I just switched to DirecTv and I'm trying to decide if I should buy the add-on sports package. Mainly so I can watch soccer but I wanted to know if Fox Soccer was going to be folding into the new Fox Sports Channel and also what the function of BeIn Sports will be in broadcasting soccer now. Any help would be much appreciated.
BeIN sport will be worth the money going forward. They're real impressive for how long they've been on air, have several rights to leagues, and seem real committed. I'm just not sold in the future of English soccer on NBCsports.
Saw this on tBB but being reported Neymar to Barca €92 if that's the right currency. Timeframe is still being negotiated.

Meyer4Prez "This is wut happens when ur team site analyst are huge homers glad Bill K+Alex G keep it real instead of getting our hopes up."
I bet he ends up at real or bayern. But whoever gets him will be paying an incredible amount. Barca would be crazy too
BeInSport is definitely worth the investment. They have rights to Spain, Italy, France, Carling Cup, all South American qualifiers, and US away games. They're going to be major players when the UCL contract runs out with Fox since NBC already attained the rights to EPL. BeIn has huge foreign investment, and they are outbidding practically every open contract available. Plus, their product is pretty good too. They're branching into other sports like rugby, handball, cycling, tennis, and auto. I could see them getting tennis from ESPN, F-1, Tour de France, and other such Int'l comps in the near future. I've been very pleased with the quality considering that it's only been on the air for 6 months.
Neymar supposedly wants Barca or Bayern. Barca makes the most sense, but Bayern is in the best position financially. Barca would need to sell Villa and a few others to make it work with FFP. Barca needs defenders and a true center forward more than anything...including a new keeper with Valdes not renewing his contract. I don't see a flashy winger being their best investment...even one as talented as Neymar.
Bayern, on the other hand, are supposedly nearing a deal for Lewandowski. You put Neymar, Lewandowski, and Shaqiri on a front line...with Kroos/Muller/Schweiny in MF...and Pep coming in to coach. That's curtains. Dante was the perfect buy for them and has really solidified their defense. They'd be a force for a very long time...even if Robben & Gomez depart.
I hope they do not get Lewandowski. That said, hope to see the Shack more in future, but thought perhaps a wing position or offensive middle field, he was the spark for Basel last year, something they have been trying to recreate since his departure. Agree on Dante, the middle for Bayern was weak since Von Bommel left. Robben would be a loss the way he is playing right now, but I think that was the plan in bringing Shack in this year.
Never a fan of Gomez, too one dimensional and a primadona IMO. Lewandowski is similar player to Gomez, thought they needed a more rounded player in that role. One that can handle ball. Also think Lewandowski is prone to fouls and has a temper.
Agree on Lewandowskis lack of discipline. But I do believe he brings more athleticism and technical ability than Gomez. Work rate is better too.
Reminder: Champion's League is at 3:45ET now, instead of 2:45ET.
That extra hour is key....

Gala is looking good at Schalke right now. Controlling possession, the vast majority of the chances, and took the away goal advantage along with the aggregate lead.
Me thinks I should fire up the crow diner thread.
Barca has played extremely well thus far. With that said, they were one post away from being toast in the 1st half, and Milan doesn't have either of their center forwards available. It's a mixture of skill and good fortune, and both are needed to advance...even for Barca.
