Bayern got the Dortmund monkey off their back!
This post was edited by Colorado Lion 20 months ago
We were missing a few as well! I will take it.
Just some early predictions:
La Liga-Real Madrid
SuperCup=4-3 on agg to Real Madrid
Javi Martinez "reportedly" heading to Bayern for 33M Euro
I don't follow La Liga, but he is supposed to be a solid CB.
He's a holding Mid, but projects long term at CB.
THE GUNNERS were last night set to cave in and strike a deal with Manchester United for their star striker
Bye Robin! £24 Mil. Don't necessarily like that he is staying in the Prem, would have rather had him head outside of England, but such is life. Podolski and Giroud are up now.
Call me crazy, but thats good value for him at his age/contract status. That and the fact that Giroud and Podolski are good options, plus the money, makes me think they have another solid move in them.
I like (gulp) what you Gooners have done this summer.
Much more so than your North London rivals (and unfortunately my favorite squad).
I don't think they make another move. They got the two wingers and Giroud in anticipation of RVP $. Giroud better pay off. He will have a lot of weight on his shoulders.
I like Giroud. I think he'll be solid if not as spectacular as RVP. What a flight of attackers SAF has now.
Giroud cannot create on his own like RVP. He's a more physical presence in the box, but few players in football are as technically proficient as RVP.
Liverpool look like they are putting the finishing touches on a loan deal for Nuri Sahin. Very happy about this potential move. Cristian Tello from Barca is also being linked to the Reds.
Agreed Diddy, but with AOC and Walcott (for now?), and Podolski as wingers, and with Ramsey, Arteta, and the potential of Wilshere behind him, he shouldn't have to carry the same load as RVP.
Good business by Rodgers the last few days - still not sure they make the jump back up the table this year, but they will be more fun to watch.
If Spurs truly replace Modric with M'Villa, I'll be disappointed. If they toss in Isco or someone of the like, I'll be happier. But until they sign multiple strikers, this is all a lost cause.
Oh, and I know I've said it before, but if they take Julio Cesar in any form its a bad deal. If they send Gio back to Inter in exchange, Levy should be publicly beaten.
Ding dong, the Mexico witch is dead.
Nice to get a w there finally.

Wow, will have to look that one up, came to post about Germany match. Was impressed with the German squad despite the score. The Germans played with ten for 60 minutes and still had many good opportunities to score. I think a bigger loss was of center back Hummels to a head injury, doubt they give up the goal at half with him in there.
This was the game type they needed more of in the Euro, but Gomez got hot and then Lowe played into that streak. The young guys played more in this game, no Gomez, no Schweinie, Podo, no Lamm. Here is the line up for Germany: Zieler - J. Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Schmelzer - Müller (ter Stegen 32'), Khedira (Gündogan 69'), L. Bender (Gotze 74'), Ozil (Kroos 69'), Reus - Klose (Schürrle 62'), the subs that interested me were Schürrle who should make Gomez and Klose nervous, Bender and Gotze should see more time, no comparison between Kroos and Ozil (Kroos is a solid player but not the playmaker as Ozil). Gundogan is another Kroos, good player but not a playmaker. The combination of Reus, Schurrle, and Ozil was amazing then and continued with Gotze. I think Low has some thinking to do on how he goes forward. Klose certainly showed his prowess last night, IMO more than Gomez did, but I am not a fan of Mario. I think we learned alot about Germany last night. Love to hear an update about US v Mexico
I watched this game, you're spot on about Reus Schurrle Ozil Gotze. Also saw Draxler on the bench, love that kid he just needs more seasoning.
USA-Mex recap? Nice result but Mexico was on the offensive all night. I don't believe the USMNT had a shot on target in the first half. They defended well enough, hit Mexico on the counter. Not sure why Beckerman started out on the wing, but when Shea came in and moved out there he provided an instant impact. Took on his defender to provide the initial cross on the goal. Howard saved the result with two fantastic saves after the USMNT went up 1-0, he was awesome all night as usual. Overall nice to finally get a W in Mexico but this team has a long way to go.
Don't forget Gervinho and his wig! You're right though Giroud won't have to do as much, or at least he won't be expected to score at the rate RVP was. Whispers of Song to Barca, while he's reckless at times losing Song would be a blow.
Understand not wanting Cesar, but are you more comfortable with Gomes?
Actually I forgot Gervinho and more importantly Santi Cazorla - who was a great signing.
No not at all comfortable with Gomes. But he's not long for this squad anyways. Good with Friedel and Cudicini, but If, and i stress that part, they truly had a shot at Lloris, they needed to make that happen.
That is my main issue with the club - Levy. He's an unnecessarily tough negotiator. You can't expect teams to meet your valuation of a player and then try to lowball other clubs consistently. You'll find a diamond here or there, but you can't do all business that way. Plus the lack of business at a time when AVB was supposedly given this mythical war chest is disheartening. They got the CB they needed, signed a nice piece in Gylfi and then.....crickets. Get Lloris or go lower and get Butland. Get Dimiao or splash on Llorente. Don't leave it to the other squads with chairmen unafraid to make a move to come in and take a player off your plate if you really want - or more importantly need - them.
Have been reading that the US MNT needs defense, if that was found in this game then that is more important than a win in Mexico.
Will also be interesting to see what happens with Germany, will Low continue youth movement with exception of a few players, I think loss of center back hurt almost as much or more than the 11th man. Hummels is solid of not spectacular in the middle for Germany, he is the backbone for them.
I don't understand why Shea doesn't get more time. I'm certainly no soccer expert, but good things seem to happen when he comes on. Torres and Beckerman are so meh.
I liked Cameron. He wasn't perfect, but he made quite a few good plays. He's definitely a contender back there.
Howard is a god.
Valid points, Butland would be a decent buy IMO, he seems like a quality young keeper.
Looks like Song to Barca. 'The Exodus, pt. II' continues. Would love to see M'Villa signed. Sad because Song was arguably Arsenal's most creative midfielder last season, in addition to being a good defensive mid. Where does he fit in at Barca? Oh well.
I also like Coquelin, he can fill in but I'm not sure he's ready to be penciled in as a regular starter.

Also thought Cameron was a bright spot. He's at Stoke now, hopefully he can get some regular time there. Re: Shea, he's been very inconsistent lately, which is frustrating especially when he shows flashes, like creating that goal against Mexico.
