If he goes out and has a good season, he will get drafted. He has all the physical tools. I just don't know if that is possible. I still remember his last season at Rutgers... it was terrible.
He's gonna really show coach by leaving his kids and going halfway across the country and sitting out a year.
We agree here and are on the same page, but it just blows my mind that some kids think this way. I do NOT comprehend people that are that self-centered. Just, wow.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Real shocker he had academic troubles. Nobody could see that coming a mile away. Wonder how baby momma of his infant twins feels about this?? That's the only reason he ended up at Pitt in first place.

Kind of late on this but it's Developing that former Sto-Rox star Desean Rippey is transferring from Pitt to West Virginia

Rumors are going that Shell could possibly be going to WVU with Rippey. That might be a stretch but we'll keep you updated #ShellWatch

Wonder how long till Boyd tries to get out of his LOI
For some reason I can't recall, but were we 2nd for Boyd, or did WVU beat us out as well?
We were down the list. I think Tennessee was second, honestly, with WVU in third.
Ahh... Rippey is a kid who I felt really bad about a year or so ago. He had his heart set on Florida... went doen there for a weekend and the first day he was there they told him that he wasn't going to get an offer from the Gators. He said for the next two days he just sat in his room at UF waiting for the time to go home. Pretty crappy.
Boyd just had a problem with saying no to people. He never even made a visit here. As Bills said, Tennessee was second and actually was probably first, but his mom wanted him to stay close to him. WVU would have been an option, but they glazed over the academics part of their program which made the mom freak out (for good reason). He settled on Pitt.
Yeah, I felt bad for the way his recruitment went too.
Nah, I remember that and I didn't feel at all bad about that. That's what the coaches should do. There are plenty of other staffs at those events, don't pout. He had also gotten ranked really highly early on without the offers to be.
To me, this just speaks to the difference in character between the kids Pitt goes after and our guys.
We get blindsided with crazy sanctions, the world is against us, and Hack/AB and Co. round the wagons and pull together a talented class of high-integrity guys.
Shell gets told he isn't working hard enough and he leaves...potentially to their biggest rival...and their class starts to tear apart as the team flounders through offseason and spring. Just one more reason why I can't wait to play them in 2016. (And stomp them with a team going through sanctions.)
Well, not all of us are missing hearts, tin man.
lol the Pitt program continues to bring the laughs....at this point, all they have going for them is the allure and connection they have to the Pittsburgh area kids and getting some really high quality targets through that connection....If they have a very public break-up with a couple of hometown Pitt kids like these 2 then some of that hometown luster may wear off pretty quickly and open the door for BOB and co. to step in. Time to lock down a couple of these WPA guys....I just hope we can be the program to step in and not WVU, Michigan, or southern schools (OSU doesn't seem to be pursuing any WPA guys that hard this year).
It was a little different than the normal situation... I am pretty sure that the Florida coaches had offered him and it was known to pretty much everyone that he was going to commit on that visit. There may have even been some discussion about it between him and the coaches, but honestly, I don't remember. It just felt worse than your average situation.
Tyler Boyd Tweet:
@RushelShell bro stay wit the squad we tryna be national champs
ha. that's cute.
If they go to WVU that's a pretty big smack in the face to Pitt and the fans.
I guess it won't be so bad since they won't play each other in the future, right?
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
I can't imagine they would release them to WVU.
I don't think they have to... once July 1st hits, I think he can go where he wants without a release. Am I right about that?
He was also a kid that was reporting offers he didn't have.
they pay their own way for the year they have to sit out if they aren't released is my understanding

yes...don't feel any remorse at all for Rippy. I believe he had a few of the offers he claimed (such as Michigan) because a few of the schools were heavily recruiting him early on. Classic case of waiting too long and having his stock plummet and ending up at Pitt.
