So I was walking in the mall yesterday when I went past a store that had Nike T-shirts on display. Most of them were goofy inspirational BS that is meant for motivation... but one of them annoyed the hell out of me. It said "Lazy but talented". WTF???
It's part of their new Jamarcus Russell clothing line.
I played basketball a few weeks ago with a guy that had the shirt and fittingly it was a person I really don't like. The lazy part was the only correct part...
Doesn't that idiot know that it's the most pathetic shirt of all time?
My wife, who is a high school teacher, told me about a kid wearing that shirt a few months ago. She was disgusted by it. Nice message, Nike.
The guy isn't that bright.
It's a graphic tee meant for humor. It appeals to people who aren't supreme athletes. I saw a fat guy wearing it at the gym the other day, soaking through it, and I lost it laughing. The guy had a great sense of humor about it, said if he wasn't fat/lazy his team would've won. Also said if it wasn't for that shirt he would've played skins to make his point. He was pretty good though, so I guess lazy but talented fit his persona greatly.
Now, that is funny, but it's still a terrible shirt.
He was definitely lazy, but not at all talented.
