Thats like the 4th time Jeffrey took a stick to the face tonight without a penalty called.

Day to day - Upper body injury.
Dont think the Pens are playing anybody that might be dinged up a tad.
Oh and Fleury is out too...Eric Hartzell, who was playing in the Frozen Four championship just a little over a week ago is the backup.
You knew this game was going to get out of hand prior to opening face-off. With Winnipeg's win, Ottawa might be in trouble if they don't come back in this one to get at least a point.
Not sure if I want to play Winnipeg in the 1st round. Though I think we would win easily, the travel might be taxing.
I would rather deal with Ottawa or Winnipeg than the Rags. I don't think the Rags are good, but the King is good enough to steal a series alone. Winnipeg's goalie has crappy numbers against Pittsburgh and they only have 1.3 lines.
Regardless, tomorrow's Caps v. Jets game is huge.

For sure. Rangers are hot right now. all of a sudden scoring and have a great goalie...a good combo for playoff hockey..
Godwin commits, then the Sharks come from behind late for the win to clinch a playoff spot.
Today was a good day.
Per the Post Gazette, Sid is asking for medical clearance. Looks like he should be back for the 1st round.
He should probably ask his dentist...
I would be more concerned what a surgeon or oral surgeon had to say than a dentist. But you are the doctor so I will concede to you.

Ha, I know that he was having several root canals done, that's all. Other than that, you're a 100% on the oral surgeon.
Of course the Devils quit playing like Jackasses as soon as they are eliminated. Keep winning meaningless games that cost you in draft lottery...damn it!!!
Pittsburgh folded the tent after the 2-0 lead. It was a meaningless game for both teams. The Pens didn't give a shit after Jokinen scored and it looked like it.
Not exactly the smartest way to be heading into the playoffs..IMO, and I'm a pens fan.

Agree. I know the games didn't mean jack crap, but I don't like the way they played against Buffalo or NJ. Combined, they have given Pittsburgh five of their 12 losses. That shouldn't happen.
I felt like the Pens just didn't feel like working the NJ zone. No hard work in the corners. Hell, they had Tyler Kennedy on the 2nd PP unit...Not a problem here. The Devils play a tight trapping style and it looked like the Pens were just not up for playing as hard as they needed to to break it. They really don't play well against them to begin with and they aren't in the play-offs.
Pittsburgh has 12 losses this year, nine of them against NON PLAYOFF TEAMS ... Winnipeg (1); Philly (1); NJ (3); Buffalo (2); Carolina (1) and Florida (1). Pittsburgh seems to play down to the level of competition.
First round exit IYAM.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
It depends on who the match-up is. I can see it if its the Rags only because of the King (no one else). I can't if its the Senators or the Isles.
Pittsburgh won't lose to Ottawa or Isles. Not enough scoring by Ottawa and their goal-tending is average. Tough for a young team like the Isles to win in the play-offs. The Rangers could be a problem though.
Speaking of Ottawa...Karlsson is absolutely amazing. Returns from an achilles tear in 10 weeks and plays over 27 mins in his first game back getting 2 assists and 8 shots on goal. Got a feeling that the Norris trophy will be heading his way quite a few times over the next 12-15 years.
If he doesn't, I am sure Ottawa's GM will be crying like a 3 year old girl.
And the owner. Eugene Melnyk is a jerk.
Karlsson is a tremendous talent. He has some hardware coming to him the next 10-15 years for sure. That said, Shea Weber has declined quite a bit after last year, so ...
