I support the program. Coaches change too much to get attached. PSU was just spoiled on that front for a very long time.
I think we all know that.
It's just kind of crazy that you would assume a guy who just had a press conference to say he's coming back to a team for next year, would then bolt for another college. That would just destroy OBs rep, absolutely destroy it. He very publicly said he was coming back to PSU, to go back on that now he would looked at like Kiffen and Petrino.
The sticker for me is that OB preaches honesty and loyalty. He would never be able to preach any of those things again if he bolted after that presser. Before? Sure, he had the sanctions to blame, PSU lying to him or whatever. Now, he has nothing. It would be a cold blooded advance, and his rep would be destroyed. Maybe he doesn't care, I don't know the man. But if he is the man he puts forward, he will be the coach at PSU next season.

Yep, that is what I am saying. A lot of his appeal comes from being upfront and honest. He definitely would lose something if he would bail.
It's happened a lot everywhere else, so I don't think that the premise is crazy.
I don't disagree with any of what you say. But...we've all been surprised before. If the ND job were to open, it's unlikely to me that BOB would leave. But it's not an outrageous thought (to me at least) either.
I wouldn't be shocked if they kept it in-house and promoted Diaco if Kelly left.
Was just about to type this. I think the job is Diaco's unless a Gruden type name is seriously interested. He's young, would cost them a lot less and the guy is apparently a hell of a recruiter.
I do see what you're saying, and it isn't outrageous to think about.
It's just that OB claims to be such an honest and loyal guy..........he can't say that, have a presser about how he will be the coach at PSU for 2013 and then bail for ND.
He could still leave, absolutely. It's happened before and will happen again. He just could never use the honesty and loyalty shtick again.
Had to post this. Picture of 13-year old Andy Reid at a Punt, Pass and Kick contest.

I swear that Andy already has his 'stache in that pic.
I've met Andy before. Tra Thomas and King Dunlop are about the only two dudes who make him look small...either height or weight.
...Andy Reid or Dick Butkus stuffed into that uni?
How big is he? Actual size?
My estimate...6'4ish, 350-400ish. He's a really big dude.
The NFL players around him make him just look a bit fat but otherwise normal. I went to one of the training camps awhile back and couldn't believe how big he was. Then I wondered why he was a QB coach in GB... it just didn't seem right.
Kelly's not goin' anywhere. He talked to get the pub.....end of story.
13 year old Andy is an epic picture.
PENN STATE FOREVER
As a die hard Eagles fan Lurie is on thin ice with me. I never liked him before. Always thought he was too cheap to get over the top. Then he took the Dan Snyder approach two years ago, dream team fail. Last years proclamation of 8 wins isn't good enough ruined this seasons chances for anything. Then you fire Andy Reid, another huge fail. Swing and miss on Bob n Chip amongst otgers, and now are interviewing a coach who left his boys at Cincinnati high and dry and just got his shit pushed in in the biggest game he's ever coached in. Ummm Eff U Lurie.

What, although it did not end well, the national championship pub was not enough?
Lurie is on thin ice with me as well but not for the same reasons. I think AR should have been gone long ago. He made poor personnel decisions, devalued several positions and whiffed badly with Castillo. To be fair this season's injuries especially on the OL killed them.
I think that when the trouble with his kids started Lurie should have taken some of the personnel stuff off of Andy's plate whether he liked it or not. And no doubt the OL injuries killed them. Not many Eagles fans seem to get that. Glad there are at least two of us. He better get the show on the road. I'd like our new coach to be doing draft prep ASAP.
Unfortunately it sounds like a lot of the draft prep will be done by Howie. Yes, coaches will have input, but Lurie seemed to give all the credit for the 2012 draft class to Roseman. That scares me more than anything.
Whoa !!! Andy was a beast even at 13. Check out the 12-year-old contestant standing next to him.
And I say you're cynical, overly paranoid and just stirring the pot. This is the most unfounded, silly thing I've seen posted here in a while, and that's saying something. O'Brien isn't going anywhere, and you're essentially calling him a liar and a fraud. Good luck with that.
Not to divert from the topic, but have you seen pics of Reid with his family? Garrett towers over Andy. I saw that kid a couple times. He was absolutely huge.
I hope not.
