Obviously off topic, but I know there are some niner's fans like myself out there on this board. Alex Smith being reported to Kansas City for a 2nd round pick this year and possibly another pick next year.
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a trade for quarterback Alex Smith, Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported Wednesday.

Thank goodness Buffalo didn't trade for him.
That's a great haul for San Fran.
Andy found his next project...
This would make 15 picks for them this draft. They're likely going to use some to move up or via trades. will be a very interesting draft for them.
For me to poop on.
Also clears 8.5 million in cap space which they could certainly use with a guy like Goldson being a FA.
I would love to see them make a move for a CB like Revis, but that might just be wishful thinking.
I also really wish the best for Smith in KC. He played extremely well the past two years before the concussion and he was a real professional when he got sat down for Kaep. I hope the naysayers have to eat their words and he is a success. Good guy.
Goldson is not being franchised. I think Carlos Rogers is gone theyll go with Culliver and Brown at corner and draft at least 2 dbs
Goldson is Free Agent was what I meant by FA. I also dont think he gets franchised. They will sign him or he is gone.
Also, I dont think Culliver is a Free Agent until 2015 or so
5 picks of the first 93, really excited about that!
Following the foot steps of Joe Montana.
I guess after seeing the draft they didn't see enough from Geno Smith or like another guy at #1 much better/they like a later round developmental guy.
Andy will do just fine. Don't be surprised if they win ten games next year.
Usually Andy is the one who gets a relatively high draft pick for a crappy QB. What gives??
KC makes the dumbest trades I've ever seen. A 2nd for Cassell was idiotic, and now a 2nd for Smith? In what world is that guy worth a high 2nd round pick? Are you telling me teams were banging down the Niners door to trade for him. Freaking idiots....
and Steve Bono, and Elvis Grbac ha
KC can draft Joeckel now to protect Smith. Should lock up that pick.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
I will admit that Smith doesnt have the strongest arm in the NFL, but he is a good QB. Highly intelligent and very accurate. His first 7 years saw him go through numerous head coaching changes and 7 offensive coordinators. I think people who put him down really dont give him credit for what he went through.
Not putting him down, but I don't think it's a coincidence that he started playing well when Harbaugh became the coach. It's also no coincidence that San Fran had seemingly two good QB's to choose from this past year, and that Colin Kaepernick has developed as well as he has.
Qb is the main thing they're missing, and now they have it. Loaded at RB, Bowe needs some help, they'll sure up the oline via the draft. Their D has a lot of talent too.
Maybe Steve DeBerg will come back
Certainly agreed that Harbaugh is a god....pretty sure that is what you were saying
Honestly though, I am not saying and never would say Alex Smith is a top 5 guy, but he is also not the scrub that people think he is. He is an average to good, not great, NFL QB. If the O-line does not get him killed in KC...he and KC should be ok under Reid. I certainly hope so at least, as Smith is a class guy.
No thanks on Revis, he's done IMO. Of course the Jets may just be dumb enough to trade him for a kicking tee plus a couple deflated balls all while paying the majority of his contract.....
I always hated A. Smith knowing we could have had Rodgers, but I wish him well.
