No score after 1
That is my name on their tops and no one can tell me any different!!!!
Good TD. 3-0
3-1 Q, starting the 3rd
Lawson down 2-0 early.
Q up 3-1 and on top, could be 3-2 shortly.
TD DT, time to make a move if he wants bonus.
good win Q 7-3
Q with the 7-3 dec!
This is going to be a disappointing start if Lawson loses as well, which it looks like he will.
Yeah, Lawson's done.
How many wrestlers do the other title contenders have in the tournament?
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Just took a look at the possible draws in wrestle backs and current draws, conaway, AA have great shot at placing top six each. Lawson has potential for top 8 but doubt it bcuz hwt is too unpredictable, and pearsalls matchups just vary greatly. Either way, we've got a long way to go and although its far from an ideal start, team is still looking good for the team title if conso guys capitalize and wake up. Mainly AA and JC.

Oh, I was going by left in the championship bracket. My bad. Iowa has 9 total in the tourney I think.
I'm going through all the brackets now, going to post Thursday Morning session updates for the top four teams in contention for team title in a few min. Going to do it by weight. I figured that's what you meant.
125 Championship---- #4Nico (PSU), #2 McDonough (Iowa),
125 Conso------------- NR Klimara (OK St), NR Thorn (Minny, but gave Waters a hard time)
133 Champ-- #2 Ramos (Iowa), #5 Dardanes (Minny), #7 Morrison (OK St)
133 Conso-- #12 Conaway (PSU)
141 Champ-- #7 Ballweg (Iowa), #8 Dardanes (Minny)
141 Conso--- UR Pearsall (PSU) Feikert (OK ST)
149 Champ-- #1 Oliver (OK ST), #6 Ness (Minny) could very well be the finals match up
149 Conso--- #11 AA (PSU)
157 Champ-- #8 DA (PSU), #2 DSJ (Iowa), #6 Dieringer (OK ST)
157 Conso-- UR Zilverberg (Minny)
165 Champ-- #2 DT (PSU), #4 Caldwell (OK St), # 11 Yohn (Minn)
165 Conso-- #10 Moore (Iowa)
174 Champ-- #1 Perry (OK ST), #2 Brown (PSU), #3 Evans (Iowa), #6 Storley (Minny) (Brown is on the same half of the bracket as Storley and Evans, but Storley and Evans potential match up for next round)
184 Champ-- #1 Ruth (PSU), #5 Steinhaus (Minn) #12 Lofthouse (Iowa) (Steinhaus and Lofthouse facing each other in this upcoming round)
184 Conso-- # 9 Chionuma (OK St) upset in first round by Thomassieut from Pitt-- UR
197 Champ-- #2 QW (PSU), #11 Rosholt (OK ST), #10 Schiller (Minny)
197 Conso-- UR Burak (Iowa) lost to #1 Kilgore in first match
HWT Champ-- #2 Nelson (Minn), #3 Gelogaev (OkSt), #6 Telford (Iowa)
Hwt Conso---- UR Lawson (PSU)
So what are the chances our guys get bonus points in the consolation bracket? That seems to be best case scenario, if I'm not mistaken.
To be honest, if they just get a win or two, that would be sufficient in this field because of how balanced the rest of the field is. Having that "murderer's row" of Ruth, DT, and QW, along with the emergence and rejuvenation of Brown puts us a little ahead of the curve in terms of bonus points in the National Tournament. As long as the big guns show up, and we get a few points across the board from the rest of the team, we should be fine.
To answer your question, JC and AA have the best chances of racking up some wins and bonus points in the consolation bracket, thats because of the match-ups that they have coming up. AA just needs to get a win and he can get rolling, but his first match up in the conso's is going to be a challenging one because of his mentality and his opponent is no slouch.
Pearsall can definitely get that first win as well, it just depends on who shows up and how they match his style. As for Lawson, its just ridiculous how inconsistent the hwt class is, not even going to try to predict that one, but he's capable.
Chances of bonus points and deep runs for other guys outside of Ruth DT and QW in champ bracket:
Nico also has an awesome shot at making it all the way to the finals, and I believe that he matches up in style really well with Waters should he get that far (which he should considering a few upsets in his quarter of the bracket).
DA has some favorable draws as well in the early going of the tournament as well, and he looks solid and focused at this point in the tournament.
I think the toughest draw goes to Matt Brown, simply because his road to the finals is very crowded in a very deep weight class. I will say, he looked sluggish in that first match-up against Iowa, and since then he has turned it on and looked alive and in control in all his matches since, but he's still got a rough road ahead.

I'm not a wrestling guy but have been following this thread and appreciate the analysis. So IYO we should still be considered the favorite the rest of the way. Is that correct?
Pretty tough to say right now IMO. Minny had a pretty good round. Iowa will struggle to keep up at this point. Ok St has pretty solid guys left, but not as much high end talent.
The ~itt kid who wrestlers Brown next is dangerous. He is very strong!
