Both players "no longer on the team" due to injuries and likely room needed for the 2013 class. I remember O'Conner from last year, another guy who made a bad business decision. Go play for Ohio State, just be sure not to get injured.
Must be a pretty serious injury...O'Conner is only a redshirt freshman, no?
This is how you compete with the SEC.
I hate it. There should be a 4 year rolling limit on the number of scholarships a team can take. You shouldn't get to just pull in 25 kids per class per year.
Crowell is gone too lol must not have been good enough lol "injured" lol
WE ARE! And we will always be...
In all fairness - Crowell came in hurt from his sr yr in HS and knew coming in that he might not be able to play but the honoured it anyway. O'Conner is leaving by his own choice - homesick - he would have been competing with two other freshmen at the guard spots for the 2 deep and would have had a good shot at it. They are very short on o-line guys. Doubt this is to free up spots or SEC style "injuries".
I don't like defending Urbz but in this case, not sure that he is thrilled, esp about O'Conner.

Fish weren't biting Joey needed a new hole.

Who was Crowell again?
If I'm not mistaken, O'Connor's injury wasn't a simple ACL or ligament tear.
Was it micro fracture? If so that's basically a death knell.

Micro fracture surgery for Crowell. O'Connor wants to be closer to home. O'Connor would have competed for the 2 deep on the O-line so this was not a move to "clear room". Also, Crowell got some time last year but medically he's just not able to compete at this time.
O'Connor leaving was not because of injury but was because of home sickness. He wants to play closer to his home in Colorado. Crowell has had three knee surgeries in the past 18 months and was not cleared by the OSU medical staff. His career could be over.
That's unfortunate news regarding Crowell. With O'Connor, I had my doubts about him coming this far east...even when he was committed to us. Seems home won out.

"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
Cam williams will be shown the door soon too.
CU suxs so he can come back here and probably start right away or go to CSU and have almost zero competition.
Don't know why would you think that? Williams is in the two-deep and doing very well.
O'Conner probably would have felt less homesick if he went to school in a rural setting vs an urban one. I never understood what that kid was thinking. If he didn't want to go to PSU, that's fine, but he was a big outdoorsman... Columbus isn't exactly where those kind of kids go.
Ignore him. We've been trying to figure out how to show him the door for a long time.
Got my micro fracture surgeries mixed up.
Ah, thanks for the info.
Thank you, I had forgotten about him.
If I was him, I'd go to Fort Collins and play for Mcelwain. Also, I miss Bristol brewing, could go for a laughing lab right now. I've got tons of fat tire and can't wait to go to cb and Potts again. Jealous that you live in CO.
Because osu is killing it on the recruiting front and landed some elite lbs, which cam williams isnt . He will be passed over fast.
Actually O'Connor's injury is more serious than first thought, he will likely miss into next season as well, and when you are thousands of miles from home, it makes it tough. Look for him to go to Wyoming, Colorado, or Colorado State. They are all close to his home and he can rehab while sitting out this next season. Crowell will most likely stay at OSU but will not be a member of the football team. His was an ankle injury and he was never cleared by OSU doctors to play. Got to feel for the kid but applaud OSU for honoring his scholly for as long as they did trying to get him back to speed.
If this is the case on O'Connor I guess it's good he chose not to come here. Probably would have left anyway and then we may be stuck for his Schollie.

O'Connor had a ACL and when they did the surgery they did some micro-fracture work too but he also has a serious case of home sickness which sucks because he was going to be in the two deep next year
When everyone runs out...we run in. Support your firemen.
Well, at least we have a family atmosphere and provide opportunities for him to fish and hunt, two things he was comfortable with. You can get over homesickness if put in a certain situation
