Sean you guys do a fantastic job covering the team. I think when people say that Scout has better team coverage it's just that they're used to Scout, and have been there a long time. I haven't seen any difference between the team coverage here and there. And honestly, I feel you post more team "inside" information than Brennan does, but that just be my perception.
MDS nailed why some people prefer scout, older group of people who know more history about PSU. That comes with older PSU "insiders" like Ed and Chief who people like to see post. Also, it comes with A TON of talk about Paterno, lawsuits, Zeigler etc. For the past two years that talk has dominated that board.
The "frame by frame" deal they do is neat, as you see a play breaking down and can study that. I believe that comes from the old playbook days as well.
Wrestling though, Pickel knows his stuff about wrestling. If there were one thing I would suggest, it would be more wrestling coverage. Wrestling recruiting is really interesting, and PSU is in it for the best kids every year.
Recruiting here can't be touched. Hands down this is the best place.

I never really lost sleep over it.
A drinking town with a football problem.
It's tough. The wrestling coverage on FOS (which I use all the time) is poster-driven, not staff-driven. Sean and co can do so much, but they can't just steal the posters from FOS and force them to post here. Justin has been great here and people get into it, but in the offseason, it's just difficult without the volume of wrestling-interested posters.

I know it's not for everyone, but I could eat those damn roast beef sandwiches everyday and be happy.
I may get one for second lunch now.
Has there ever been discussion to allowing user content like the wrestling coverage and blogs? Or does 247 want to maintain market separation from other user-content PSU sites?
I hate you. I hope it makes you chit your pants.
That's why I added the addendum to my suggestion. The little community of wrestling fans there are great. The staff produced wrestling coverage over there is pretty much the same as here.
And also, if they sold Arby's sauce in stores, I would literally drink it by the bottle.
IMO Brennan usues "quotes" from sources and maybe people feel that it's more real, but Sean and Co give it to us straight and don't bs with those quotes about "unblock able off the edge" ect.
Everything recently has been broken here or by Ryan Snyder.

I had no idea that Arby's had such a strong following. Seemed like no one was ever in there...
"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
Snyder is the only other source I trust for anything involving recruiting. Brennan is good w team coverage, but that's about it, and Jeff, Sean, Cory and Andrew combined >>> So FOS is way inferior IMO. Agree wholeheartedly there man.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
And FWIW, Snyder is gunning for a national analyst position. Not saying he is ready for it or that it will happen soon, but I think he is on the right track and if that offer comes he won't be doing PSU stuff anymore.
I wouldn't say, that Brennan and FOS' team coverage coverage is any better than here. Both sites are very timely with team info. But I think where people get that impression is that Brennan is more connected and shares more about the program/admin side of things.
ie When there's conversations about developments in the AD, BOT, etc. he shares info and insight into the overall "pulse" up there so to speak.
An example would be the recent SI piece of crap article a few weeks back that some people freaked out about before it went online. Mark chimed in with what he knew, from what camp it was, etc (and not in a looney freak out manner.... He is very level-headed and poignant with the info he shares in that regard just like Sean is with his info).

Bottom line is, all star lineup is everyone from here, Snyder and Brennan, and that's it... But having our entire staff here is amazing. It's like having a great staff vs just having a great DL coach or a great RB coach... We have the entire staff. The other 2 sites just have one great individual each. We have a Showtime Lakers lineup... BWI has one superstar, and so does FOS... They are quality guys with quality info, but there is no comparison.
If any insight could be gotten from voluntary workouts, that would be cool. But might be hard to get.
I understand you're frustrated, but please lets not take it out on the Arby's sandwiches.
