Apparently UNC announced today that the NCAA told them no violations occurred.
Have at it.
Bruce Feldman @BFeldmanCBS
NCAA concludes no violations broken in UNC's academic scandal.. Huh? Which fan base will roll eyes abt this more: NC St or Penn St?

God I hope the media does with this what it should. Who knew it would only take a few months for Emmert to get tested like this.
Wow. CFB really is a farce. Pathetic.
Absolutely unreal, we break no rules and get killed, they break a clear rule and get off with nothing.
It is just mind-blowing how hypocritical the NCAA is.
Time to leave the NCAA all together and go NAIA! Set the new trend!
The only thing you can really say is GTFO.
This is not surprising. Emmert responded harshly regarding PSU to quell the public outcry for blood. Have you really seen much public outcry to UNC's phantom class issue? NO. It's as much an indictment of the sorry state of fans who don't give a crap about the academic side of sports as it is about the lameness of the NCAA. Emmert wasn't getting any heat over the issue so why would he act and piss off UNC?

Wow there really is no hope for this world.
Still can't believe we signed off on that bs. At least even the Penn State haters are starting to realize what a joke the NCAA is.
The true lasting impression the NCAA's sanctions on Penn State will leave is that it pays to cheat. USC gets caught and within two years is ready to once again seriously compete for a MNC. OSU has multiple players receiving illegal benefits and gets a year bowl ban and the loss of scant scholarships. UNC openly allows kids to not even show up for real classes and gets no penalty. Penn State violates no NCAA rule and gets the harshest penalties ever seen. What did Penn State get for doing it the right way? That's the question every school should now ask and see the answer is nothing. Quite the message the NCAA sent in the 2011-2012 time frame.

If it is all academic related, and doesn't fall under NCAA athletics, maybe it falls purely under academic regulations and should result in their accreditation being suspended? Just makes no sense.
any way we can get the government to sanction the NCAA bc obviously they have ethical inconsistencies..
It's unreal that one program who graduates it's players, suspends their players for a bad gpa, and sits kids for not going to class gets the worst sanction since the death penalty, but another program who clearly performed academic fraud gets a free pass.
I hate the NCAA so much and hope they all go to hell. The PSU coaches, players, fans, etc don't deserve this crap.
Would seem to me that leadership at UNC didn't maintain insitutional control involving academics and student athletes and as I recall, lack of institutional control can be turned into sanctions against athletic programs. I also have noticed that we haven't heard a peep out of Mr. Emmert since he got shown for the fraud he is on ESPN Outside the Lines.
I wish i knew how to write bc i would start posting articles anywhere i could.. We should get all the PSU journalism alums together and start our own media storm! So pissed right now
I wonder if Emmert will ever do another interview. Even the hacks at ESPN will call him on a this bs.

absolutely ridiculous, but hey it doesnt surprise me! They will get what they deserve sooner or later. EMMERT
The NCAA's actions will be dictated by public opinion and outrage, pure and simple. It has been a joke for a long time, but they have taken it to a new level even for them.
This decision is ridiculous, totally agree. But if anything, I think it actually helps Penn State's cause with the media. If they had levied sanctions on UNC (like they should have), the media would be praising Emmert for making the right decision. However, he's already starting to get skewered, and you know guys like Mandel and Feldman will end up writing about this. It's a huge knock on Emmert's credibility, and may make people question his Penn State decision a little more.
The disgusting part is that college football is a self-contained, self-perpetuating farce. Schools continue to break rules constantly. NCAA is powered by the universities, who don't care if one or two schools are hammered as long as the $$$ from college football still roll in. And who is there to step up and say this is wrong...who also has the power to change anything?
What is Emmert's email address? That scumbag needs to be destroyed.
They also have a conflict of Interest. The NCAA BB tournament is one of the NCAA's largest sources of revenue. Sanctioning UNC directly impacts their own bottom line. And you won't hear about any scandal on ESPN... John Skipper, President of ESPN, is a UNC grad.
All you guys bitching about this need to take Karen Putz and Ol' Dick Rod's advice and move forward. There is nothing to see here. In case you missed it, the job of the NCAA is to police criminal activity completely unrelated to athletics, not to enforce the academic integrity of student athletes.
