Denard Robinson. Who wants to waste money on a game where the cover athlete wasn't even the starting qb and when he was healthy he wasn't even the best qb for the team.
Why did EA change the rules on this cover vote? I was hoping they would go the team route with the cover this year? I thought Alabama won the team voting (rightfully so). Is it Alabama and Denard on the cover?
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
it was between Denard and Ryan Swope from Texas A&M. Denard had the name and school recognition to get the cover.
Again, when did that change? I thought there was some sort of poll put out be EA sports on their FB and twitter back at the end of last year that you could vote for a specific team to be on the cover of this years NCAA football game and Alabama won that. Was the original poll a preliminary vote to see what schools would be in the final group and then from there people could vote on a school/player from that school to grace the cover?

I doubt you can have the current Bama team on the cover. That would be a NCAA violation. It is the reason why they have always used graduated players for their covers.
But yeah, Denard is an odd pick. I'm guessing they would have used Te'o if he didn't turn out to be a sham. As for the voting, it was BS from the start. They probably just scrapped it.
I think they got to top 4 teams, then included player for each team. Teo was picked for ND so its obvious why they got knocked out. I think Bama had Lacy
This is my assumption.
Thanks for the insight/input folks.
Just passing the time until they can put Clowney on next year's game.
Actually, I really enjoyed watching Robinson the last few years.

Still can't believe the way they beat ND in the Big House in 2011. (thanks, jive)

Yeah. Darn these years. We're in 2013, so I just subtracted one.
Anyone know what the release date is on this year's?
"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
This game is probably going to be terrible anyway. I probably played last years a handful of times at most and with the new generation right around the corner, they're going to put less than 0 effort into this years.
The perceived quality of the cover athlete really has nothing to do with the quality of the game. At least it wasn't Matt Barkley.
I do it all the time.
Yep. And probably next year's will be bad as well as they ramp up the next gen stuff. The first couple years of NCAA were terrible on the PS3/360.
Who wants to waste time caring about who is on a game cover hiding in a cabinet once it is home?
Oh, and your assessment of Denard's football skills? Seriously?
Typically second or third Tuesday in July I believe.
I wonder what they will do with our sanctions, etc.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Nothing. That would require EA to actually do work.
I don't recall an OSU bowl ban last year.
Aren't the roster already maxed out at 70 or something for every school anyway? Haven't played for a while.
Play it every night. You are correct Sean roster's are at 70. Maybe we should complain that they aren't rostering our run ons.
Yeah they're capped at 70.
There was a game a few years back ... thinking around 2006, where you recruited players and they had a discipline rating.
Depending on your enforcement of the rules and the amount of times the players got in trouble you would have to deal with a bowl ban and or reduced scholarships.
I was actually hoping they would introduce sanctions of some kind into the games. Maybe have players get into trouble every once in awhile? Or have some kids not academically qualify? Or decommit?
I hope for these things every year though, but I'm always disappointed. I play NCAA A LOT though.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
