DEAR REPLAY OFFICIALS
The call that was made was the right call. There was not enough evidence to show that he crossed. If you want to see a bad call here ya go. And this cost Nebraska a national title. Enjoy 4 years of now bowls!
Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Penn State Nittany Lions in 1982. This play was amazingly ruled a catch. The referees must still be hungover from last night's party because this guy's feet were definitely out of bounds when he caught the football. The Huskers ended up going 12-1 in the 1982 season. The three point loss to Penn St. was their only loss of the season. The University of Nebraska football team also repeated as Big Eight champs.

Everyone but Nebraska fans have all said it was a TD douche bag and even some Nebraska fans have said it was a TD.
“Never trust a government that doesn't trust its own citizens with guns.”
If you're going to flame, at least check your spelling.
F the NCAA
F the BOT
Go shove a cornstalk up your ass, douchebag
Enjoy the rest of your life being the douchebag that you are.
BacardiBuckeye: "But in all honesty I like Penn State, I want to see Penn State do good that's why I check this board everyday." 4/2/14
He is from Nebraska there is nothing to do there but bang their cousins and be douchebags.
Really? Not enough evidence?
Every time I see that clip the rage begins to burn again. This is going to stick with me for a long time.....kind of like the extra time added to the clock in that Michigan game a while back.
Hey douchebag check out this angle and tell me it was not a TD
And here comes the class!
This was far worse. The clock issue wasn't that bad. Joe telling them to kick to Breaston should have built the rage. Not an added 2 seconds and a prevent defense that got shredded.
This is a solid gripe
Agree that the clock issue wasn't THAT bad. That didn't cost us the game. What was bad that game was the NOT EVEN REVIEWED toe-in-heel-out on third and long that went for a first down.
That is the bad call that arguably costs us the shot at the MNC that year.
No....USC and Texas won out, we weren't hopping either of them.
you spell no NO not now
What an idiot. Everyone in the world says it was a TD absent people from Nebraska. If you want to see a bad call, check out who won the 1994 national title. That was your revenge. Bringing up that play in 1982 is a joke. There was PLENTY of evidence the ball crossed.
I find it hard to believe that Nebraska fans still can't get over the 1982 game. You would think that them getting the national title in 1994 would be enough for them to forget something 30 years ago. This poster is not alone because I have seen '82 referenced a couple of times in the last 24 hours.
The problem is that they seem to think the 1994 championship is something they earned, rather than us being slighted. So in their minds it doesn't count as "karma" or "retribution" in any way.
Obviously, PSU fans see it differently. And frankly, I don't see how anyone can refer to a team as dominant as 1994 PSU as second place without any sort of game to decide.
I love it!!!!! LOL!!!
you are right FJP, I was at the game, sitting on the 45 yd line, and all I was telling the guys in front of me was "please don't kick to Breaston, just please don't kick to Breaston"... they kick to Breaston and he returns it to around mid-field. The game was lost on that decision, as bad as the 2 seconds were, and that's what everyone remembers from that game, every time I want to get depressed and think about it, I think of the decision on the kick off.
Look...you have to remember that if you lived in Nebraska, you would still be stuck in 1982 as well. Time moves by very slowly when your state is only relevant for three months a year and you don't laugh at the movie Napoleon Dynamite because it's too close to home.
I don't read braile. I was wondering if one of our blind posters here could translate this for us?
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Do they not have book-learning in Nebraska?
I'd like to think anyone old enough to remember the 1982 game would have the maturity to post something more thoughtful, maybe less inflammatory... Unfortunately age is not directly correlated with intelligence or class.
