SIAP... I looked thru the other threads and couldn't find anything on their fans reactions to these two teams potentially joining the Big Ten. Mods- Feel free to close if this is posted somewhere else but I just couldn't find it. If not, anyone know how these schools feel about it?

I have one upvote left, and I am not afraid to use it!!!
WEAK move by the big 10- adding 2 cupcakes should really help the reputation of the Confernce
It's all about the Baltimore/DC/NYC TV Markets. Both schools are AAUA member institutions, which is compatible with the B1G non-athletic institution alignments.
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Realistically, didn't we (PSU) already have those markets.
Does the fact we play Rutgers 1st game next year make the first B10 game for RU?
However you may or may not feel about the additions was not my intent of this thread. I appreciate your input, but can we stick to the topic at hand. How are fans of Maryland and Rutgers reacting? There are lots of other threads concerning our opinions. Thank you!

It is all about the money and with Fox buying 49% on the YES network then pairing it with the BTN they will be able to name their price in NYC and New Jersey.
“Never trust a government that doesn't trust its own citizens with guns.”
Our first game against RU is 2014.
The addition of Rutgers solidifies the BTN (read PSU) hold on the NYC market. The addition of UMD solidifies the BTN (read PSU hold on the DC/Baltimore) markets.
At the end of the day, this was a very strategic move by the B1G. May not introduce alot to the competitve side of athletics, but definitely a coup in solidifying the B1G dominance in the Baltimore/DC/NYC TV markets at the expense of the ACC and Big Least.
Gotta love it. It's a chess match and B1G just earned the upperhand in gamesmanship!
