Can you give us some idea about your sources? Students, parents, coaches, administration? Do they have a direct relationship to the football program or are just "close" to somebody who is.
Honestly, given the unbelievable challenges PSU is facing with recruiting, this staff knows it does not have the luxury of blowing off anyone or anything. I think they have shown this to be the case so far.
So it's awesome you have a source, I would just hope that you are as suspicious as we are (given you are a PSU fan) and try to help us flesh out whether this is just a lack of information, spin or just a bad rumor.
If your "source" told you to jump off a bridge, would you do that as well?
Wow this thread is becoming like a rivals thread,
Listen i went to McDevitt and I get info here there but i choose not to share because of whats going on in this thread right now! Maybe Todd was given wrong information maybe Obrien showed up later who knows,That is besides the point, Psu_Todd got information, be it right or wrong and chose to share it. This person that gave him the info he obviously trusts. Now we have people wanting him to reveal a source or questioning his credibility, Next time he gets any info he probably will not share it. Same thing happen to me years ago, a guy i knew told me something that ended up not being the way he thought it was. I posted it on TOS , guys bashed me for it. Since then when i got insider info on kids in my area i just keep it to myself.
Love this board and have no problem with an open argument but some of these comments remind me of what you would see on TOS and that shit doesnt fly around here.
You've hit the nail on the head here Doug. I haven't seen it on here as much, but on TOS, it happened all the time. I got so sick and tired of the same regulars questioning every new poster who came on with information, that I ended up leaving there. It is much better over here, as the level of respect most posters have for one another is far greater than any of the other sites.
That being said, it still does happen to an extent. Everyone seems to trying to establish an identity, and people either do what they can to boost their identity, of try to prove someone else wrong.

100 percent agree. I have always hated when one poster screams at the other to reveal their sources, like one poster has anymore credibility then the other because of the amount of post they have. It's funny if you think about it
What exactly are you guys finding that is out of line? People not taking the post of someone with few posts as seriously as some others? Not surprising. A single person asking what relationship the person who passed him the info has with the program? Seems like a legit question. A single person (ezcheez) with a stupid post? Not unexpected.
OP provided info he had passed on to him that two others have now said they have info that the OP's source is incorrect. I'm not seeing any wolves shredding a bunny here.
Exactly. It kind of does suck, but most on here are viewed by post count and star rating. It's almost like recruting! Some NR posters can actually be diamonds in the rough, problem is, most of the regulars overlook them because they may be guys or gals who like to read, but are not avid commentors.
Oh, and BTW, while i'm on the topic........the downvote thing really needs to be changed. It is a very unnecessary tool to have on a paid site.
I think it is just the way people approach things. I posted a comment on Eric Shrive last week, and was attacked by a random poster questioning the accuracy of what I posted. Now, out of respect for the person I heard it from, and out of respect for the player himself, I'm not going to tell the person WHO my source was, but I know it was 100% correct. Now, because of the way the person questioned what I posted, I think twice about sharing that sort of information in the future.
It's really not a contest to try and see who has more "connections", or who is viewed as an "insider", it's really more about a bunch of fans, from many different backgrounds, sharing ideas, info and questions with fellow members of the community - which it what the idea of a blog/forum is all about. If people continue to bash others for sharing info(accurate or not), it's going to turn into Sc*^#.com. I'm sure those who are/were menbers over there remember the "crumble" that happened to that sight this time last year, when many of the "insiders" just stopped posting, or left the site, because of all the negativity being spewed their way every time they posted anything, and it didn't actually work out the exact way they said it would.
I would hate to see what happened over there, happen over here. This site is too good for that.

Of course the guy that bashed you had less posts than you did, so it isn't quite the same situation. Also, I'm 100% you were defended. I understand why people don't believe new people, and yeah that kind of sucks, but that's the way life works. Have to gain trust and credibility. A guy like Cleezy is well liked for a reason. There's a few others on here that are the same way, people definitely know they don't speak much but they know when they do it is legit.
Oh, I understand the hierarchy of the whole thing, it's just the blatent dismissive attitude some posters have for others simply based on their time on the board, rating or post count that is a little troubling for me.
I try an take everything with a grain of salt - no matter who it's from, but I always appreciate anyone who is willing to share info, unless it's obvious that poster is a troll.
I have no doubt in my mind that some of the stuff Ed posted last year on TOS during the coaching search was 100% accurate; it just happened to change, and people drove the guy of the board because of it. I'm just hoping we can avoid that whole mess on here, because we have a good community and a grat product, and I would hate to see divided sides between such a great fanbase.
I agree with your theory completely, I just really didn't see anything out of line in the thread. In my mind this one played out like it should. Someone hears something, someone else says that's not how I hear it went down, someone else confirms story A or B and the truth is somewhere in the middle or maybe the OP's source isn't aware of how the situation may have changed after his last contact...
Help desk you are right this thread was not out of line, I was on the thread last night and when i woke up this am i saw the one post that was totally out of line and it hit a nerve. So i just wanted to speak up and remind everyone this is not the rivals board.
Since my reply on this post got a down vote, let me just say that my questions were intended to foster a healthy discussion about whether the events stated in the original post indeed happened. I think the original post is what makes this site great but I don't see any harm in having an honest exploration of facts in a respectable manner. Certainly posts that are disrespectful or insulting have no place here, but my post was neither.
Guys gotta accept that when they post something that is somewhat controversial (did BOB and staff drop the ball with Lemelle) that there will be vigorous discussion. When contrary information then gets posted by guys that have a proven track record, it is only natural to have questions about the original information and it's source. I think most aren't intending to attack the source as much as figure out what the actual story is.
It probably is unfortunate, but to be considered somebody with solid information who isn't questioned as much you have to establish a track record of being accurate. That's the problem with anonymity. When we don't know the basis for your information and you have no track record for providing accurate info, you are more likely to be questioned. I don't think that's all that outrageous. Unfortunately, some don't always discuss in a civil manner but that seems to be a small number of people. Overall, the level of discourse on this site appears to be of high quality.
