What exactly did he do? That must have been a very serious injury for him to still be held out of contact. It's been almost six months since the injury and I can't recall ever getting a direct diagnosis.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
Apparently he has an ankle too. That (the ankle) was news to me as well, and I just learned about it in another (recent) thread.
In the thread, I asked "I thought Carter's injury was a wrist/hand? He had an ankle injury too?"
Nobody replied, but it appears he did something to his ankle at some point.
more reps for Wilkerson and Breneman.. We know what carter can do, looking forward to seeing the young guys getting more playing time in the spring game..
Ankle injury was just a sprain from the TD he scored at the end of the Ohio state game, where he was tackled after being in the end zone late in the game. The broken wrist I believe came against Nebraska.
Carter injured his wrist rock climbing I thought.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Yea, I know he hurt his wrist. That doesn't say how exactly he hurt it. I would think a broken wrist doesn't take six months to come back from?
More than likely it doesn't. However there maybe other complication with the rehab that they don't have to come out with. They also know what they have so why risk it even if it is better at this point in time. The one good thing is that they have so many young TE's that can use the reps and make it a legitimate power position in the Fall.
Carter, James, and AB will already be a valued set. Can you imagine if Wilkerson also proves his worth.
Anyone up for a 4 TE set?
It does if there's damage to the surrounding ligaments/tendons. Also depends on if he had to get surgery. I've had kids out 10+ months from wrist surgery. Also could be as a precaution too.
I'll take a stab at it. My guess is he had a scaphoid fracture. That little bugger can be a PIA to heal because of the blood supply. Likely it was pinned and they are being very careful with it. AVN or avascular necrosis is no joke, literally the bone itself can die. He is young and seems to be a rising talent no need to risk him now. Let it heal make sure it is 100% before you cost the kid a career.
just saw a day one pic of Carter he wasn't wearing anything special on that wrist, Bilat wrist braces. Looked to be preventative
