The party that wins the presidential election tends to lose big the next off-year, meaning non-presidential election year, cycle. So a Democratic takeover doesn't seem too likely, just some typical media hype.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Gotta love it!
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
The demographics have changed. And the "media" is dominated by right-wing ideology already:
Top 3 radio news programs are: 1) Rush Limbaugh 2) Sean Hannity and 3) Glenn Beck
Top Cable news network: 1) Fox News
Wall Street Journal editorial writers are all right-wing.
This idea that the Main (lame)-stream media has/had anything to do with the outcome of this election is complete crap!
For the Republican party to evolve and revitalize, they need to strip themselves of the biased Tea Party Neanderthals that have taken over the party.
"Media" hype my azz! You need a new mantra Tex!
The country has been shifting to the left for years now.. A true conserative candidate will never win another presidential election.
I agree, conservatives have an uphill battle, as predicted in the following thoughts by Karl Marx, Lady Thatcher; Alexander Tytler...
> "Democracy is a form of government that cannot long survive, for as soon as the people learn that they have a voice in the fiscal policies of the government, they will move to vote for themselves all the money in the treasury, and bankrupt the nation."
> "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy. "
> "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]."
The Chinese are measuring the White House windows for new drapes, as they now pretty much own our future as soon as they decide to call in our debt.
No she said she handled over 3000 cases.
As an attorney, i can tell you there is no atty in Pa that has tried over 3000 cases. None.
Just another Republican ploy that facts dont matter. just lie & people will believe you.
Didnt work in Presidential election & didnt work in AG race.
this is why there should be an IQ requirement to vote
I know her, went to high school with her & her brother, had criminal cases against her, & she will keep her promise to investigate Corbettt's handling of the case.
there was an interview of her today in the Scranton Times, our home paper.
She says, my top priority on day 1, will be to investigate the Sandusky case.
Everywhere i went people asked about it. I will do what i promised & i will go to work on it on day 1. She even said that if people wont talk about it, she will use the grand jury process to get them to testify to gather info. Hint, hint. If the governor wont talk, she will subpoena him. She is not just a pretty face, she is bright. She knows what she is doing. Going against a disliked Republican gov will not faze her.

CNN did a similar piece with Sara Ganim who happens to be outliving her 15-min. of fame. Nevertheless, Kathleen Kane reasserted the same.
I for one welcome the new scrutiny of Tom Corrupt.
And what would that be, genius? I'm sure I'm more intelligent than you.
You do know you're also saying that mentally challenged people shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Why don't people respond or comment instead of down voting? It serves no purpose.

Trying to get people to show their ID when they vote is a total clusterf*ck.. No way will an IQ test ever fly in this country.
Why do you say that? PA's voter ID law was only stayed for this election. Without further judicial intervention, next May PA voters will need to display picture IDs.
It's a stupid law lookiing to fix a non-problem with regards to voter fraud. At the end of the day this law is not unlike Jim Crow laws or poll taxes designed to negate the vote of those most likely to cast their ballots fo Dems.
What? "Lying" is just more effective coming from a democrat's mouth.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
There are also very liberally dominate news stations that are quite popular, like MSNBC.
Tea Party hasn't taken over the party, but ok. For somebody to claim that mainstream media doesn't have an effect on people's beliefs is ridiculous. Take the scandal here as an example, what the news reports the vast majority believe it to be fact. So what news station they watch or listen to, whether it be FOX or MSNBC, has a big impact on what issues people consider to be relevant.
I'm not even a Republican, I'm not sure why you're getting on to me about this stuff.
Sad but true. Republicans aren't conservative anymore, they're just radical on the other end of the political spectrum.
Somebody who made the statement he just did won't be one who understands reason or sensible logic.
Because they aren't able to offer up an intelligent argument.
This is why we can't have political discussions on this board, because some people will lose their cool and start calling people names and make wild accusations.
Can we all agree that politics is a pain in the ass and let that be the end of it?
On a serious note, we've given a little longer leash this week in terms of political talk and (for the most part) everyone has done well with it. Good time to move on and get back to being a Penn State sports board. Thanks for keeping it civil.
