I would appear Redd is getting just as many carries as the other RB's. Their practices have featured about 2-4 carries per RB ... as long as the Redd Topic keeps coming up I'll note that I fully expect him to get close to 200 carries this year which will lead the team (unless he is injured).
I couldn't find anything on the Texas board about Fera, but I looked briefly.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
I wish nothing but the best for Fera, no need to attack him. As for Redd, I don't wish bad things on him, but I'll laugh if he never gets past 2nd string.
Lets be real, obviously, Silas will be the #1 back before the start of the season. However I do hope he does NOT perform well with the Trojans. Lost all respect for him as well
It is the first week of camp at most places. A lot of the kids that left PSU are going to have to earn their way to the top of the depth chart. Redd will see plenty of time for USC. It is way too early to judge if they made the right or wrong choice.
For those that care about Redd and are VIP, you can read the practice reports on the USC website. They're all articles and not just VIP board info.
No worries. I get many downvotes on my own, lol.
How do you come to that conclusion?
Personally, I think it's pretty obvious that he will NOT be the #1 back before the start of the season (barring injuries), or at any point throughout the season (barring injuries).
for those that aren't area, anthony fera did injure his groin and missed a practice, nothing serious
Wrong, dead wrong.

Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
We will see.
Redd will be third string because he was big fish at PSU with little talent behind him to USC who gets 5 star after 5 star. Enjoy the warm weather Silas cuz you wont be toting the rock.
Starter: Curtis McNeal, Senior
"whose durability Kiffin has questioned, got hurt on his second carry"
Backup: D.J. Morgan, Junior
5-10, 175, Jr., SO
"who got benched last season because of fumbling, fumbled twice"
6-1, 210, So., FR
Silas Redd was one of the top 5 backs in the 2010 class, higher ranking than any of the guys already at USC, and the most experienced. He'll start - Kiffin just is going to make him earn it and won't hand him the first team when he walks in.
Redd just isnt all that good tough little scat back. No big time speed and he isnt big. If you think he is one of the elite backs in America watch more games.
Wonder if Silas becomes the next Mitch Mustain. Mustain may have been an NFL first rounder had he stayed at Ark. Instead he warmed the bench the rest of his days behind the five stars already at USCHEAT. I have a very hard time thinking Silas just walks in there and starts with all the starpower USCHEAT already has. I think he's in for a surprise. Kiffin just took him for a little more depth, lol. Leaving PSU may have just cost him millions. I agree with the fish in the pond theory. At USCHEAT it will be a small fish in a sea.
Who are the 5 backs in college football you feel are better than redd?
(no order) Marcus Lattimore, Eddie Lacy, Knile Davis, D'Anthony Thomas, Montee Ball, and Rex Burkhead might be a better back but its hard to tell in their option offense. That said, I still think Silas will win the main job in SC, as I believe he would come next on the list. And yes, I do know you weren't talking to me but I thought I'd like to express my opinion haha.
I don't see Redd getting near that many carries. USC will probably throw the ball close to 500 times this year with Barkley and those wrs. He'll be lucky to get a 100 meaningful carries IMO splitting reps with a couple others.
He was bush in letting the coaches find out from the media, IMO.
Who would you say is better?
I'll agree with Lattimore and Ball.
I'm not willing to put Thomas, or Lacy ahead of Redd at this point. All of those guys, IMO, benefit from a great team and really good QB play, same could be said for Davis. Also tough for me to put 55 carries ahead of the load Silas had last year (Thomas) and the fact that Lacy came in post Richardson when the game was clinched. All of these guys outside of Burkhead are wonderful talents, but I for now have them behind Redd.
Redd put up some good numbers going against 8 in the box a lot. That's the main reason I'm giving him the edge over those others.
I think he will split carries certainly, but they will still run the ball quite a bit.
Him splitting carries will get him close to 200, IMO. I don't think USC will throw the ball 500 times ... they didn't do it last year and had less of a backfield.
The shame of this is that no matter who is right it does nothing for PSU.
Burkhead is a beast; I'm not sure why you are discounting him. He may not be flashy, but he is every bit as good of a back as Ball and tougher to boot.
Don't bother. He just referred to Silas as a "tough little scat back", he obviously doesn't know football from an asshole. Which may be why he's always seen humping footballs.
Yeah, supposedly will graduate from PSU if you can believe it.
Justin Brown and Anthony Fera definitely will. Not sure why people are surprised by that.
Silas, Idk. He could if all his credits transfer to USC and depends on how far along he was here (I know he enrolled early). But that wouldn't shock me either.
Not cool..... Never wish ill on others or as you put it Karma will get you too!
