I must've missed it, what did JB say?
Yes and no. This takes the focus on him and allows him to do more. The fact is we have a God awful QB, young line, and any sort of pressure relief on those two left when Redd did. Being a part of an explosive OU offense could move him up (or down if he doesn't play) a couple rounds.
Devon Smith's departure isn't huge. Sorry ... bubble screen guy who bitched up a storm ... tripped over his feet more than anyone I know. Drake was nothing more than potential. Both were bad eggs.
Once Jaz Reynolds is back, Brown is the #3 receiver. Maybe the fourth if Metoyer is any good. And is Brown even going to graduate now?
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
Then learn to quote the right post.
Also I meant a secondary option. Either way, I see where he's coming from.
Honestly this transfer makes even less sense than Redd's. I mean the kid has 15 weeks of classes left in his DEGREE, and transfers because Silas Redd did. Essentially if Redd stays, Brown stays.
I just don't like his game for this offense. He's big (but that's not necessary in this offense on the perimeter), with suspect hands, and average speed... Kersey is much faster, a few inches shorter, but I like him better stretching the field so that the TE's and Kenney can work the middle. If Kersey stays, I say push. Also, Kersey has another year here... Win/win. Kersey has shown MAJOR flashes in my eyes. He and Robinson and Kenney could make you say, Brown who?
WE ARE! And we will always be...
It is the upside of Lynch, Gilliam and Belton that has me excited. Funny how people state this about high school seniors but will not give a kid who is already on the team the same respect!
I'm sure he will graduate, he'll just finish his last few credits at OU.
Who cares. Not a Brown fan right now... BOB called him a leader a few weeks ago. Wonder what he would say about him now...
OU or PSU...neither improved his stock if ya ask me. His draft possibilities will be based on what he shows in workouts. He game has to be using his size, body control, showing more consistency with his hands, and route precision. IMO of course.
Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
Idk putting up numbers in that offense hasn't exactly endeared OU receivers to the NFL (I'm assuming he's leaving to help his NFL prospects). Look at Ryan Broyles. He was the most prolific receiver in CFB history and even before his knee injury NFL scouts were lukewarm on him. NFL team and scouts know if you can play and your QB sucks or your in a system that is friendly/unfriendly for your skills. Just look at Georgia Tech WR's in recent years as the perfect example as showing they can play despite not putting up big numbers in a bad system for receivers. IMO the pros and cons basically cancel themselves out here. But it is what it is.
You don't like that he left. Has nothing to do with his game.
Just doesnt make that much sense to me I guess. You'd think a year under coach Hixon would be more beneficial than a few more touches. He must not be happy at PSU. Oh well. See ya.
Right? Brown was not that good. He was a nice piece, but he was not Redd or Hodges... He was nice, solid... A good number 2. This is NOT the end of the world. If Kersey stays, this could actually be better for us, not just a push. Right now, I say push.
Sour grapes comment my ass. Brown is a big bodied Wr that drops a ton of balls. He's a decent player nothing more. Never thought he was anything special. I wish him no ill will, but he is by no means a play maker.
Anyone think BOB may have put his foot down with him. Your in or your out.
If he wasn't sure about staying then forget about him. Players should be 100% if not then see ya, good luck.
"On paper they have nothing to play for– no bowl games, rankings, or championships– yet they play like they have everything on the line."
Reynolds had some downright ridiculous catches last year. I agree he pushes Brown further down the depth chart. Probably why Stoops wouldn't guarantee Brown a starting spot.
Meh. Good player, but he is replaceable. As others mentioned, Kersey does have a ton of upside and is much more explosive than Brown ever was.
This hurts more in the punt return game (Golden?) than anything else.

Thats kind of what I'm thinking. At this point he's pretty much a known entity. I doubt there is any new aspects to his game that aren't already evident. Always thought he would be a guy the combine would be important for. Oh well. He's not a warrior.
Completely agree they were bad eggs and it's obvious neither of them really proved themselves, but... both had great athletic ability and were potential threats on the field. If nothing else they gave the defense something to watch out for.
Just like Redd, transferring will have NO effect on his draft stock. It will allow him to play in a bowl and compete for a MNC, which is a reasonable reason to transfer... for some.
MTayl, do you think he might have stayed if Jones was the QB?
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
How come everyone forgets that Kenney is still here, Im confident him and Zanelletto will step up along with A-Rob.
? His drops were a consistent problem for me. Some of it has to do with him being a senior, yes. But not all of it. He has average speed and suspect hands. He worked in the juggs machine a lot last year, and still dropped balls. He was over-rated. You'll see.
