My mother knows a wife of a certain news reporter that was suppost to be taking a vacation but had to cancel because her husband is to be around for the next 24-48 hours because they don't expect joe to be around much longer. Also heard the priest was called in last night. Sorry for the bad info just passing along. TIFWIW. U will be missed dearly joe and thank u for everything u have ever done and all the players and students u have affected at Penn State.
Thanks. Heard this as well, lets pray he comes out of it.
Praying for you my friend!!
...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"
Praying for u Joe....
This has to be the worst news ever. Was really hoping he would be around to see an apology.
That hit home in a bad way... This is terrible news. It is all of our responsibilities as Alums to carry on the tradition of success with honor in all we do as JVP taught to so many of us. He is a great man and I pray he has the strenght to fight this. He deserves quality time in retirement with his family, he has earned it.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Best wishes to Joe from an OSU fan. Although I personally believe mistakes were made in the whole situation including by Joepa, you cannot deny what Joepa did for not only PSU but all of college football and this is definately not how Joe deserves to go out.

Very sorry to hear about Joe. We will not see the likes of him again. He was a decent, hard working man that loved his job, his university, the ball players and students, and the community of Penn State.
I've followed his career for a good four and a half decades. I have not been a Penn Stater, but was always a fan of Joe Paterno. It was he that first suggested that the Big Ten add a twelth team. Always thought alot of his opinions and followed him closely in the news.
These past months have been very painful to watch. This will not be Joe's legacy. Punish the guilty for what the guilty have done. Remember Joe for the many contributions he made, the thousands of lives he touched and volume of work he will have left behind. God bless him, his loved ones and the family that is Penn State.

Thoughts and prayers are with the entire Paterno Family and friends.
This is not what I wanted to hear.
thoughts and prayers go out to Joe, the Paterno family and friends. Hope that you pull through and get well. You deserve to go out better than this.
I expected this was the case when he suddenly came out with an interview last weekend. I hope it is not true but am not surprised.
Joe was and is a man of towering strengths who represented Penn State in a fantastic way, despite his inevitable weaknesses. I was introduced to Joe briefly as a freshman and there was nothing about me or the situation that was especially memorable. I ran into him again in a random situation as a senior and he remembered my name and identity. What a special person. He will always be cherished in our memories.....
