(1) I'm happy to see them to going to double overtime on the road the week before playing us, while we're coming off a bye. That could give us an edge in what should be a close, tough game.
(2) Ferentz and O'Brien are both former Belechik assistants. I think we'll gameplan for Iowa much better this year than past years, but at the same time it'll be interesting to see two guys from the same coaching tree scheming against each other. Plus, Brian Ferentz and BOB spent the last few years together on the New England staff.

On point 1....I really doubt play 2 extra OT periods will have any impact next week. Plus it was a pretty quick game with all the running and all!
Iowa is REALLY unathletic on offense. That's what stood out to me.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
a) Iowa sucks. Badly.
b) PSU wins by 14, and it's not that close.
I too think PSU should win. But I also believe PSU will be the underdog for the third time this season. I can't wait 'til Saturday!
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
We will be playing the best defensive team we will have seen so far this season. We're gonna learn a lot more about our team after this game.
Let's not get too over-confident, yet.
I could see the line being Iowa -1 or -1.5...which basically infers the line is even but Iowa gets a point and a half for being home.
What? The best offense they played this year, BY FAR, was Northern Illinois. Color me unimpressed. We should win this game easily.
What is hard to gauge in this game is the quality of iowa's defense. Frankly mich st's offense looks awful. But perhaps Iowa just is really good defensively. We need to make sure we control the clock in this game. We wouldn't want to get worn down in the fourth quarter and get pounded by Weissman.
MSU's offense IS horrible. They were 98th in scoring offense going into the game and will likely be lower afterwards.
MSU's offense is rotten. Positively rotten.
Sparty usually has that one stud receiver that is a difference maker to bail out a subpar QB. They don't have that. The only two players on that offense worth a shit are Bell and Sims. Absent that ...
true frosh Burbridge looks like he will be a good one. Today was the only time I have watched MSU this year.
Kicking game-big advantage Iowa.
Didn't Weisman get dinged up at the end of the game? I watched the first OT and Garmon was in at RB.
I think the difference will be our O-line with improvement in our coaching and our S&C (Mac &Fritz).
Looked like a high ankle sprain. Guess we'll know for sure by Sat.
